How much power are you making?

I suppose the main advantage is the standard fitment? What sort of power have you got from it? I only ask as I see they cost the same as the Garrett 3071. If you can get similar power outputs and spooling characteristics, the Owen's might be more cost effective (as I won't need to do any fabrication).

Yeah, I need a confirmation on the Rev3 metal head gasket. I will buy one if it fits rev2 3SGTE :thumleft:

I remember reading that the rev3 head doesn't fit the rev 2, but am pretty sure the gasket does (only from what I have read though).

I can confirm that the Rev3 metal headgasket goes directly onto the Rev 2 3SGTE engine.

I changed mine 3 weeks ago, the Rev 3 HG only cost £48 direct from Toyota as well :thumleft:

How does the rev3 gasket compare to the Cometic MLS gasket in terms of power/boost maximums?

You can get the cometic MLS imported from the US for about £90 delivered (at the current exchange rate).

im not sure on that, but i done plenty of research before i purchased my HG and was told that the standard MLS rev 3 gasket was more than capable. After all, on rev 3's, the blocks tend to crack before the headgaskets go which proves their strength!

Sounds good. Rev 3 it is then (unless someone else has experienced different).

Thanks for sharing mate. How strong is the rev3 HG compare to aftermarket HG and what is the thickness?

My other question is whats the max boost for CT26?

Not worth going over 1bar for the CT26 really, or it goes out of its efficiency and just makes more heat.

AFAIK the CT26 cant even hold 1 bar of boost past 5000rpm. It just cant flow enough.

Get a ct20b. Good for 300bhp with all relating mods (fueling etc).

If you ever plan to go higher than 300bhp, then look into getting a Garrett GT series turbo (GT28RS, GT30 GT35 etc), or a cheaper option is a TD06, which makes really nice power but is laggyer.

It says it likes to run at a minimum 18psi (1.3bar) which technically rules it out for a standard rev 1 or 2 unless you do the head gasket.

Has anyone got one of these?

I have an Owens Stage 4 CT26 on my rev3, it's a handsome unit - spools quickly and not too hot.

What power are you getting out of this turbo Goto?

My plan is to uprate the internals of the CT26 using bigger inducer and exducer and replacing the turbo shaft with a lighter steel shaft. Its very hard to find a CT20b turbo in my country.

My next mod will be metal head gasket and adjustable fuel pressure regulator though before I begin to uprate the turbo :)

Woah, you have lots of ideas banging around in there dude?

REV3 gasket will fit a REV1/2 Block.

Dont bother with a CT26. Unless its a hybrid.

Greddy Emanage Ultimate is a good unit, seen cars running over 500 on it.

Did you mention earlier a 3071 & 800's? I thought you wre on a budget? lol

Yup, after reading a lot of advices

Thats not me who mention about the 3071 and 800's coz I ain't gonna spend huge cash.

Im looking for a adj fuel pressure reg, hybrid CT26 and a metal head gasket and probably an external wastegate :thumleft:
