[Mk2] [Turbo] Power FC vs Linq G3

Post by dellams »

Hi guys,

Was just wondering which of these to go for on my rev3 tubby? Do they both allow more than one map/settings so can toggle from say economy map which uses less fuel for everyday use to a more aggressive map/settings for racing, etc. And do they allow this at a touch of a button so is quick and easy to switch whilst driving.

Cheers. :thumleft:

Oh, and also the M4 too. :) I heard they are more of a pain to setup though whereas the PowerFC comes with some good base maps.

Cheers.

The base map is kinda irrelavant, as it'll be mapped anywhoo.

Theres not much in it imo, i would personally go for the PFC, as the commander displays some good info and allows access to settings without the need for a laptop.

Easy enough to get hold of, may mean waiting a while for one to pop up on here though.

Ok between the Link G4 and PowerFC? :)

Also, what about the Solaris S3 and AEM? Heard they also have TC, which is something I wanted and was going to get RaceLogic one but also heard they are better than the RaceLogic TC?

Cheers.

powerfc is discontinued as has never been supported (hardware wise) in the UK. The Link is supported, is modern can be firmware updated and you can buy a display just like the PFC commander. Pricewise, after mapping they're about the same I believe

Ok, but I have heard the PowerFC gives a smoother map? and is more user friendly so should be cheaper to map? Plus is plugnplay so is a straight swap with the stock ecu so again save money there...

Some ones been telling porkies.

Links go to higher resolution than power FCs, Links have plug & play looms available from Thor Racing, Link software is very user friendly. Mapping is mapping it won't take any longer to map a power FC or Link or anything else unless the mapper only knows the short cut keys for say Motec, then he'll be a little slower if he doesn't know the power Fc or Link shortcut keys.

Racelogic is better than built in ECU TC because of the full control over it. :thumleft:

Mr Dent, time to get you in a Single supra with the Solaris TC on :) .

The RLTC is good dont get me wrong but with the Solaris you can not only set the slip you want based on conditions but you can also set the slip % based on Steering angle or Lateral G so its actually works properly in a corner instead of just looking for wheel slip on a rear wheels like on the RLTC.

The Solaris software is designed by the same guy who did the Pectal software and the same software and hardware is used in most of the Leman race cars.

See here for more info

PFC Pro Launch control cuts Ignition, RLTC cuts Fuel

Solaris S6 cuts Ignition and Fuel based on egt values. :thumbs:

I have a pfc that i'd like to use in the future but I wonder if its worth it mapping wise to get the datalogit for it. Seems like it makes it easier for the mapper?

Any powerfc mapper should really have a Datalogit for it already chap.

I would never map one on the commandor

The power FC has the processing power of 2 chimps with an abacus!

Link is so far better its not even worth asking the question.

PFC = Dinosaur
Link = Modern tech
