According to Auto Express, it'll be getting the hybrid engine that's been mooted and will return to the original coupe configuration. Looks good to me!

I think they're losing the plot. Looks like someone like Mazda got their hands on a Ford Focus. Then again gotta move with the times I guess!!!

...looks very average to me.

These artist’s impressions give you an idea of how it will look. At the front it mixes cues from Toyota’s FT-HS sports car concept with a deep lower air intake, while the side has a kick up on the door towards the roof. At the rear are lights from the FT-HS and a neat diffuser-style lower bumper.

It's just an "artist's impression"... Take it with a very large pinch of salt! Someone's spent half an hour with a couple of shots of the FT-HS concept and made it shorter:

They haven't really got a clue what it's going to look like - the good news is that there may be a new MR2 on the way. :thumleft:

Autoexpress seem to do this a lot.. just make stuff up i mean, they did it recently with Jag.. "Jag to make mid engined supercar!" was the headline. Even had convincing pictures, but as far as i can tell it was just a fabrication.

Toyota executive vice president Masatami Takimoto wrote:We have set a tough price point... as it will be easier to sell if it is affordable

Can I have his job please?
I'm sure I could come up with quotes like that all day long.

An updated SW20 look would be better, kinda like an 21st century SW20 turbo, better still why not just restart production of the SW20 & the AE86 im sure there's still a massive market out there for 'em 8)

If there is no news, they have to make it up, and in the current financial climate, that is probaly becoming more the norm for Auto mags reporting on new developments.

I've got a friend at TGB checking to see if there's any truth in it. When they come, hybrid sports cars are going to be awesome - and wouldn't it be great if it was an MR2 that showed the way again?

Toyota Supra based one-off hybrid racecar:

How about if toyota just sell the bits to make them as a low volume kit car

But you know get rid of the mac strut suspension and get a nice double wishbone setup instead!

As for that artists impression, KILL IT KILL IT WITH FIRE AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
