[Mk2] [NA] Radio alternative

Post by grainge231 »

Wondering I'd anybody has heard of any kind of alternative to a radio which isn't as bulky as a CD player. Just thinking if there's any product which could use a ISO radio harness but only have an auxiliary output for iPod ect. Been searching for some kind of alternative but can't seem to come up with anything . Anybody heard of anything like this or have I invented something haha

You can very simply do what you want by getting a phono to 3.5mm jack cable chopping the phono plugs off and wiring the bare wires to the stereo wires on an iso plug. It will be quite quiet though as the line out on most devices isn't amplified much. You could use a line driver inline or id probably fit an amp to the car and use a jack to phono cable to feed your source into the amp

Something like this:

Good idea. Something that would make me wary would be the sound quality, but if you're not that bothered, could be good
