Rather large update alert!

Been very busy over the last few weeks with the car and making big steps in the right direction now.

So I finally got the head back and ready to fit. I did the routine checks an worked out the CR of the engine, then assembled.

All assembled and you can see how the inlet manifold turned out

Then it got fitted to the car...

Image

AS you can see, without the spacer, the inlet manifold would be close to fitting in the engine bay without cutting the fire wall

I wanted rear exit but it's not possible for a couple of reasons so it'll be side exit with a twist

Work has been happening on the car, but things have been a bit slower. It's getting to the stage now where you can put a day's work into it, and see no real change. Just tying up loose ends and routing stuff mainly.

Anyway, some pictures;

Colour coding to appease my OCD

Image

Routing oil lines. Very tight packaging.

Image

Fuel lines installed and Wiggins clamp added for some flex in the boost lines

Image

-16 oil feed and rerun lines. Not cheap!

Image

Bov installed. Also there is now a Wiggins clamp half way through this pipe for flex 3.5" clamp 3 times the price of a 3" one. Go figure

Image

0.7mm inconel exhaust

Image

Image

Taking the plunge.....

Image

Image

Now with windows as well

Image

Fairly straight through!

Image

And finally, mocking up an new fuel pump mount

PTR exhausts in brackley have kindly welded it up for me with inconel wore.

A big purpose of drag cars is to be loud, and I'm not one to disappoint :)
