Anyone see the article in here today? It's a 3 page article which talks about the mr2 being a rising classic :thumleft:

Nice car in the feature anyone's on here?

Nobody else curious?

I'd be interested to know what was said ... conclusions, recommendations, warnings etc. It passed me by at the time.

Yeah I think prices for good ones will be going nowhere but up.

Already mk1s are gaining strong values and mk2s are now following.

That said it's not like they'll ever be an investment like a Ferrari or Aston may.

Yeah good ones can be serious money these days. I definitely don't agree with their pricing on here. I've yet to see an MoTd one go for under 2-3k recently.

That was a really good read thanks. The c.blue was probably the best colour to show case the uniqueness of these cars.

Their values are def whack as last weekend I sold what was a project (albeit black t bar) for what they think is show car price!

Thanks for posting the article. (not my car).

Pretty reliable cars if use them enough to keep oils and lubes in the right place and prevent stuff from seizing up. Dont be afraid of a higher mileage mr2 as they can easily do a couple of hundred thousand miles before the rot gets them.

A lot of people of all ages still take a good look at a well looked after mr2.

They can look great and so different to modern cars that have become very tall, wide, long, big blind spots from door pillar airbags, and wallowy if they go near a corner, oh and all the streets have congestion from cars that are too big for a garage. The MR2 is surely a lot more aerodynamic too and it can flow through corners where many modern cars need the brakes (or is that because modern driving standards are so bad lol).

The big mistake Toyota made was not directly importing the mk2 rev3-5 turbo cars to the UK.
