Rev5 manufacturing data

Post by bjoli »

Hi,

Sorry didn't know where to post this but I just thought I'd share some numbers about manufactured Rev5's.

Found this website and extracted some data:
www.toyodiy.com/parts/q?vin=SW20-0114100

1999 production numbers:
Total Turbos: 294
T-Bar with Turbo: 40
Coupe with Turbo: 254

Total NA: 729
T-Bar with NA: 330
Coupe with NA: 399

1998 production numbers:
Total Turbos: 616
T-Bar with Turbo: 87
Coupe with Turbo: 529

Total NA: 1856
T-Bar with NA: 755
Coupe with NA: 1101

Excel file with all frame numbers manufactured in 1998 and 1999 with some more details like color, gearbox, LHD/RHD ...

drive.google.com/file/d/1X37boKlfkLc8X-bMTFzkT1GWaOcW-ZF0/view?usp=sharing

The code I used to get the data off the website is also included in a tab in the excel sheet if someone wants to continue to get data from other years. I am not a programmer so please don't comment on how shitty the code is. I am just happy I got it to work.

edit: i had the coupe/tbar numbers switched for the turbo cars

Manufacturing for Rev5 began in late 1997 for the 1998 model year, so these numbers are probably a little low as they don't include any Rev5 built in late 1997.

I have the same specs as you. Mine is built in May 1999.

I was actually a bit surprised that there were so many Cosmos blue turbos out there. Sure you can argue that 87 (or 88, 89, 90 or what it could be including the late 1997 cars) is not many but still not super rare either. I wonder how many of these have made it back to Europe.

The guy I bought mine from back in 2005 had 2 at the time. The 1999 I bought and a 1998 TRD2000GT also in Cosmos Blue.

I suppose it was one of the nicer colours so I can see how it was popular in the grand scheme of things. I can't imagine there being more than 10 in Europe tho...

Cosmos and Sonic Shadow were both premium colours as well when new.
