 I'll se what I can do re the vid Vash but I won't get much more garage time until after Christmas, the ITBs are already closed down. I've got to change the coolant on the Hi-lux tomorrow seeing as it's got just water in it at the moment. I was lucky not to have a split rad from it freezing up on Friday. #-o F'in garages doing a halfarsed job.

Thought I'd put a wee vid up of the beast, after four years stuck in the garage we decided to get her out for a wash/claybar and polish. You may wanna turn down your volume

Sorry, forgot to give Ed a boot dude. #-o

Well she put down 182.3 bhp (6800rpm) with about 170 Ibft torque (about 4000 rpm) but that's without VVTi and the ITBs still need some balancing. Both Ed (Fusion Motorsport) & Charlie (Surrey Rolling Road) rechon she has much more to give.

Chopped:

Fettled to fit:

Tacked & blown in one place:

Ground back and POR15'd:

Got these to go on at some point in life, has to be the most expensive way to level the headlights

Still got the other side to do Tom (same again). Hopefully won't take me as long, just need to get the car turned round so I can access that side in the garage.

The only bit of metal that had failed was an old patch that must have been put on the car before I got her. #-o

cool cool 8)

What´s left on the MOT list then chris? At the weekend I picked up a magazine with an article about the new MOT regs. It said that there was an amnesty until the first of April, until then you only get an advisory that it will fail next time :!:

Just need to weld up the other side then noise (or friendly MoT) and emissions.

I'm hoping to chat to the guy who does the MoT and see if I can sit with the laptop and adjust the fuelling/timing to bring the emissions into line for the idle and 3000 rpm slots on the test so she passes then get Ed to adjust the full map to improve the fuelling.

I guess it didn't help that the initial mapping was done on one of the hottest days of the year last year. #-o

Got the evil wench out of the garage today and had another go at the ITBs, got them a little better than in the piccy.

Image

Wish I'd had the camera on video as she emitted the loudest backfire I've heard yet when I turned the ignition on to start balancing, set the neighbourhood dogs off rattled the garage and earned a WTF! from a nearby garden.

Had a dig at the welding I need to do, done this side already:

(nice stance with the BC coilovers fitted, thanks for the assist Vashy)

Chewing gum anyone:

Bit rusty:

Initial chop:

Got bored and put her away, got stuff to do. 8-[

I love the names you come up with for her  (and after working on her, I know why you do!)

 remember the scene in Gone in Sixty Seconds when Memphis is anxious, scared even, about driving Eleanor? I think that´s what driving El will be like

That is the biggest exhaust I have ever seen on a MK1.

She's a wee biatch.

I gave her a bit of a boot down the alleyway when putting her away and she had a nice wiggle.

I admit I was showing off, there were some folks coming out of the park. 8-[

I bought the exhaust cos it was supposed to be the quietest aftermarket tubby box around. Didn't work out that way when stuck on my bloody car.

I saw the videos of the start-up etc on YouTube some time back. My first thoughts were "F me that's loud!" followed by "I hope the neighbours are understanding, or deaf!"

Not exactly a stealth machine is she
