Post by b4ss »

Hi,
So when you 90s MR2 Turbo cat fails, and you need it to pass emissions
what do you do?

I would be prepared to get a new one from Toyota but they aren't available?
Has anyone had success with alternatives?

A good custom exhaust shop would be able to put a generic cat in for you.

Other options:

Nice components, not cheap!

What year is the car? Assuming you're in England/Wales/Scotland, you may not need a cat to pass an MOT.

M plate turbo or older doesn't do CAT Test, not in Great Britain anyway. You could likely get a CAT section made up to fit your car but ££££££'s unknown

3 inch sports cat can be had for around £100-£150, £80-£100 for a chinesium decat downpipe, another couple hundred for someone to chop it and put the cat in and fit it maybe?
