Re: Any tips on driving a paddle clutch?

Rev match the downshifts properly, the last thing you want is the rear wheels locking or spinning up as the clutch drags the revs up harshly in the wet. TRD diff will excaserbate this. Learning the bite point is key, because it's not really a bite, its just an on off switch   Much less for...

Pretty much this.

I ran 205/50 and 225/45 and was more than happy with it. AD08 is a good tyre which is available in these sizes ;)

Seems to be between gear spool is better on the EFR rather than simply outright spooling at earlier RPM

Re: 16" tyre choice

I'd be interested to find out how them 50 profile tyres feel on your car Craig. I've 45s, I found these to be comfy so never experimented. I wonder how 45s on the rear and 50s on the front would behave. I'll report back when they're fitted mate. As for 50s on the front, and 45s on the rear, I belie...

Re: 16" tyre choice

T1r up front and yoko s306 on the rear(this is the setup the car came with) the rear was loose compared to the front T1R up front and a022 rear, the front had way less grip than the rear, understeer would wash in pretty easily, or I suppose more accurately the rear would push the front wide. When I ...

Re: 16" tyre choice

I find having four matched tyres gives more predictable handling, you don't need to think about two different sets of characteristics when chucking the car around. I do like the Ad08's and where I know good tyres cost money I can't help but feel they're a bit much for a daily. Well I take your point...

Re: 16" tyre choice

1) don't mix tyres if you can help it 2) I didnt find the wear rate on the AD08 to be too bad, esp when you factor in how fricking great they are in all weathers/temperatures. Fit a set front and rear and you won't look back ;) 205/50/16 and 225/45/16 I had AD08 in these sizes on my Enkei 16x7/8 and...

Re: tyres

A rated for Wet grip should translate into decent grip

Every wet grip a-rated tyre I've driven on has been decent in the wet

Re: tyres

efficient grip

lol

Unless technology has moved into an area I'm unfamiliar with tyres trade off grip for efficiency, i.e. by reducing the rolling friction you reduce fuel consumption, this is at the expense of grip(i.e. friction)

Re: HKS GT3037s turbos whats the most power you can get out of this turbo?

What are your requirements?

Decide what you want, then pick a turbo based on that.

"Which turbo is better?" is totally subjective without a spec to work to.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] 6 Puck or Street Disc Clutch?

ACT should be able to find a 6 spring plate to suit. If not try approaching Mike at Camskill.

I wouldn't get a solid centre as it'll judder like an alcoholic before his first pint of vodka at 9am.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] 6 Puck or Street Disc Clutch?

My only advice is get a solid centred clutch. I've seen too many clutches break spring keepers, rendering the car undriveable until the clutch is replaced. All depends on the quality and number of springs I found 4 spring clutches would spit springs, 6 spring clutches would not. I guess because the...

Re: Handling issues - advice

Whats more important to you? Looks or handling?

Stick with looks and put up with crap handling

Bring the rear wheels in 10mm, fit wider tyres and enjoy better handling.
