Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Getting there 530hp new spec

Mine is a gen 3. The one in the US will fit the block with some minor mods to the oil lines.

Anything that could extend the life of the block sounds good to me :D

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Getting there 530hp new spec

yes HKS 87mm.

I might sleeve the block if it cracks and get a girdle to stop any further cylinder wall cracking.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Getting there 530hp new spec

i take it that you are running 87mm pistons the same as me... im hoping that the block doesnt crack on mine.

Have you not sleeved your block? I see that you have a girdle on the bottom end, where did you get it? I have only seen 1 company selling them in the states.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Getting there 530hp new spec

The car had a T88 fitted when i got it.... once i have found out what the performance is like it will be swapped out for something larger/newer. jesus larger than a t88  what you hoping for... 1 millionnnnn bhp  personally i reckon that anything bigger just wont work on our lil 4-pot ...

Re: [All] [Generic] RCA splitter?

Does either the headunit have a low pass filter? - it could be that you are only passing bass signals from the head unit, hence the movement and no upper range.

Check the book/manual that came with the headunit, or have a flick throught the options.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Getting there 530hp new spec

There is a gt37  ? or is that a hybrid? salamanzer... if your after 600whp on pump and want to maintain any type of driveability, then i would be using a GT4088r NOT a T88 !! The car had a T88 fitted when i got it.... once i have found out what the performance is like it will be swapped out ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Getting there 530hp new spec

there are limits to the .68 housing, and think ive nearly reached it. it doesnt help when the turbo is non devided. performance cat is being cut out. simon The only true twin scroll manifold that i know of is a modified one by full race that has a true T4 exhaust housing. But is your exhaust divide...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Is this parts list good for 500-ish BHP?

my new build is 87 mm , reason was HKs stroker only come in 87mm. Most off the shelf stroker kits are 87mm. 300rwhp is a different to 500+ I agree a good degree of mapping helps in keeping the block together, this i totally agree :D launching hard could do that possibly l said the block can crack d...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Is this parts list good for 500-ish BHP?

@ 50RHWP i wouldnt be looking at a 2.2L not on a 3STGE block, if your going to stroke the engine i would go with a 5SFE block, else you can budget in a block replacement every so often. i cannot agree with this. its possible to make 600,700,800 bhp with just an unsleeved 1998cc block. there is no e...

GT35R is fine, if i wasn't looking to run more than 500RWHP then thats what i would get. When you buy a clutch you...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] T66 Ball bearing

My friends trust T67 at 1.4BAR makes 430 ish at the hubs if i remember, so the T66 should make 500WHP around the 2BAR mark. The GT35R is a much newer design, and would spool in a similar time, have a look at lockys96 thread on his GT35R and see what you think. Out of the 2 i would recommend a GT35R,...
