Re: private reg is it worth it ?
Plates with screws in silly places and daft reshaping or spacing of letters has to be one of the biggest fails ever. Not only illegal, looks stupid, but smacks of "i can't afford the plate i want, so i bought and modified this cheap plate instead". Six negative opinions in one post, must b...

Re: amount of mr2 left
Theres between 10 and 20 being broken on ebay every week,
even if some are relisted, and some have ad's lasting longer than a week,
thats a lot of mr2's every year.
Today for instance i stopped counting at 30.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Anyone removed the oil cooler/filter setup completely?
I asked a similar question to this last July, (mainly, can you run without the stock oil pressure relief valve.) to no avail. As i understand it, the valves plunger opens in the event of over pressure, and allows some oil to flow directly back to the oil pan via the oil cooler base. To run without the...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Broken a crank? I now know why
Aluminium front pulley=bad.
The blitz flywheel on mine is 20% lighter, but, because it has a seperator on the twin clutch,i would imagine its as heavy,or a little heavier than stock, hopefully.
As for balancing, all 3sgte cranks were balanced,to an extent, but as i saw for myself, not perfectly.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Broken a crank? I now know why
I asked my engine builder to check my crank for wear and balance. The crank was balanced as an assembly, with flywheel, clutch, and harmonic balancer attached, and matchmarked. It showed on his screen three lobes (iirc)needed material removed to get true balance. These cranks were mass produced, and the...

Re: fuel tank removal
Just a thought,
if your doing this on the drive or a home garage, on stands,
either use most of the fuel first,or drain it by pinning the diagnostic port to bring the pump on without ignition,
i did mine on my own,and forgot about the fuel,
damn tank was heavy and sloshed around shifting the weight.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Will a 7 stud manifold fit a 9 stud head?
I Wish i was :D i understood their was a difference in the gaskets, and stud pattern after the guy who swapped my rev2 head for st205 wanted a rev 3 gasket and manifold,so i assumed the manifold would be different too. Wasnt expensive at the time, and besides,i changed it earlier in the year for an Ap...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Toda flywheel hairline cracks
If it were me,i would change it.
Even if the cracks are minor, with all thats going on there, clamping force against rotational mass......its never going to get better......besides,
your mechanic thought it important enough to mention it.

Re: Blitz nurspec vs mongoose dual exit
sure it's not been bent in transit or something?? mine fits spot on, never needing anything, just popped it on and was great, What worried me about this exhaust was how close it was to the centre driveshaft, literally 4mm,given the speed bumps and state of most roads i had visions of it acting like ...
