Re: Chris's rev 3 G-Limited - now Turbo

I went for a dyno run shortly after having the turbo installed just to make sure everything was healthy. Made 303bhp at 1.1 bar - nice start but should be able to get more with higher boost and the right map.

Re: Chris's rev 3 G-Limited - now Turbo

what engine management are you running/planning on using? how about fuel system upgrades? I'm running the stock ECU with a ROM board - this allows the maps to be changed but it can't be remapped on the fly. I might need to switch to something more advanced later but haven't got the budget for it at...

June 2014 At SBITS to have a KO Racing T3/T4 turbo kit fitted. This is the 46 trim with .48 A/R turbine for quicker spool and a Tial 38mm wastegate. http://www.chrisward.org.uk/pics/koturbo_1.jpg http://www.chrisward.org.uk/pics/koturbo_2.jpg http://www.chrisward.org.uk/pics/koturbo_3.jpg http://ww...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Turbo Blankets Good or Bad

I bought a blanket from PTP for my T3/T4 turbo, mainly for engine bay heat management as the stock heatshield had to be cut away to make the turbo fit. I haven't taken before and after measurements but the engine bay does seem cooler after a drive and the fan doesn't come on quite as often. As for i...

Dynax S50 is good stuff. You might also want to remove the boot lining and spray some into the wheel arches - mine had a bit of surface rust.

Re: Normal oil consumption for a turbo MR2

Mine uses about 6-700ml in 1000 miles. It drives fine and made 300hp on the rolling road so I'm not too worried.

Ok mate, it there any warren tt provided with the gearbox or deals on the price including postage Hi, I'm the owner of the gearbox. Obviously I can't give you a warranty but I can tell it was behaving fine apart from the oil leak. No strange noises and all gears engaged smoothly. I think £350 is a ...

Here's another option. Nissan Skyline R32 GTS-T (16x6.5 ET40) for the fronts and GTR (16x8 ET30) for the rears.

Re: Radiator Bleed Valve

Think it took at least ten minutes - certainly longer than it takes for the temperature gauge to get to its normal position. Running the engine faster should speed things up, and will also help push air out of the system.

Re: Radiator Bleed Valve

I've got the same type of radiator. It's slightly more tricky to bleed without the hose connection - instead of leaving the valve open you have to periodically undo it (not quite all the way) until coolant starts leaking out then do it up again. Gets a bit messy! Obviously there'll be no flow throug...

Front tyres on a Countach are 225/50/15. Perhaps we should join up with the Lamborghini Owners Club for a group buy. :-k

2014

Frustrated by limited choice of tyres in stock 15" sizes, so... set of wheels number 4! Nissan Skyline R32 GTS-T (16x6.5 ET40) on the front, GTR (16x8 ET30) on the rear.

2012 Engine number 3. This was a freshly rebuilt rev 3 with forged pistons, bought from Chris (the other one) and fitted by Peter at SBITS. Finally the engine I should have had in the first place! http://www.chrisward.org.uk/pics/rev3turboengine.jpg Knackered A/C condenser about to be replaced: htt...

Re: Chris's rev 3 G-Limited - now Turbo

In hindsight I should have spent more on the engine (and got a rev 3) and spent less on mods. Within 2 years of the swap I suffered alternator, clutch and head gasket failure. These are some of the parts that went in at the same time as the engine swap: http://www.chrisward.org.uk/turbo/apexi.jpg Ap...

2005 After a worrying wheel nut incident (near side rear wheel almost fell off on the way home from work) I bought a brand new set of 17" Mille Miglia alloys. Also had a Blueflame exhaust and Koni Yellow suspension fitted in time for the IMOC track day at Elvington. http://www.chrisward.org.uk...

Chris's rev 3 G-Limited - now Turbo

Well it's just over 10 years since I bought my MR2 so I thought it deserved its own thread. 2004 I paid £3400 for my rev 3 G-Limited import. Here it is just after I drove it back to Northampton from The Car Megastore in Sheffield: http://www.chrisward.org.uk/pics/mr2_history/2004-06-20.jpg First job...
