Re: [All] [Turbo] AVC-R Screen died

Ok, YES it is still worth sending. The thing that has fallen off is a resistor (Thankfully I can still read the value) Looking at the PCB underneath it, the resistor has blown open circuit. The screen is definitely a vacuum fluorescent type - it's basically a TV tube in reverse... The dark patch you...

Re: [FINALIZED] 1994 Rev3 Turbo Caribbean Blue T-Bar £2500

The Car was sold at the weekend. 30 mins after parking up in the town centre at Duderstadt, A local MR2 owner found me, and bought the car. From that moment he was never more than 5 meters from it. We went on the Duderstadt driving cruise with me behind the wheel, and at the end of that I handed ove...

Currently yes - only 2 have replied... I guess the folks might pop down as well - 'tis their favourite restaurant too, we would have ended up down there regardless I think. Scott, are you going to pop over for the evening? Who else is staying in Maidstone? I think I'll follow everyone else's lead an...

Re: Duderstadt, Germany - 30th July > 1st August. IMOC attendance!

can I please confirm numbers for the curry Thurs night in Sittingbourne? Also, what time do you want to make it? I'm assuming not a late one! Don't think I can, skint until Friday! It's a Tenner + Beer, and I can shout you that until Friday! Regarding all this extra camping gear everyone is packing...

Re: [All] [Turbo] AVC-R Screen died

I think the screen on an AVCR is a Vacuum Fluorescent type, which means it needs a high voltage converter inside to drive it.

It's possible this PSU or the heater wire has failed inside the unit...
It's not going to be fixed by hammer though!

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] BATTERY CHARGING PROBS

The alternator main output cable is fused, so is the battery voltage sense wire, so is the alternator power wire!

you need to go round and check the fuses:
Main Output front bonnet : ALT 120A
Remote Sensing front bonnet : Alt Sensing 7.5A
Power Wire Engine Bay : ECU-IG 7.5A

Re: Uprated Engine Mounts

the most common thing to do is pack the gaps around the existing mounts with silicone sealant... have you considered that as a stop-gap? as I guess it is reversible if you so wish

Re: Owners Club car - anyone know it

it's a Rev1 car... so the engine is more than likely still the original Rev1 block.

I would draw your attention to the Dyno plot.
It's got a CT20b sized turbo, that plot shape is all wrong!

Frankly I think the wheels slipped or the dyno had a brain fart.
You are looking at a ~250bhp car and no more.

Really?? Poop! Well oddly enough M&S or Post Office usually come out reasonable second best to Travelex pre-order. Being in London, you can get far better rates if you pass Waterloo station at any point (ICE) http://www.iceplc.com/cgi-bin/live/ecommerce.pl?site=iceplc.com&state=survey&ac...

Take all paperwork for the car: Insurance, MOT, Registration, Driving Lic (Both parts) You'll be fined in Germany if anything is missing. Considering what we are all about to spend in Fuel - warn your credit card company in advance. Go to the Travelex website the day before and order your currency f...

I think I found a winner - £59 for up to 90 days European cover, 21 days in any one trip. Includes UK cover for 12 months too. Cars up to 20 years old :) http://www.quotelinedirect.co.uk/breakdown/ THAT is the one I linked to (through another website so you knew where I got it from) Reading the pol...

What deal did you get for Euro Breakdown?? Best offers I've seen online £59 http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/insurance/roadside-recovery#eu But reading the policy detail there, they only recover 20 miles to the nearest garage - sounds more like an 'Insurance Policy' rather than an actual tie up with...
