God luck with it. It is very fiddled, especially keeping the little resistor pack located when you bolt it back on the bulkhead. At least you only have to remove 1 bolt, as the other side is slottted

Re: gaaah, first car trouble with the mr2 :( suggestions welcome!

Hi Ryan My ECU had been running fine up until I broke the car. It was fitted up until about March this year, the last time I fired the engine, since then it has sat in a box in the house so it wouldn't get damp. It's possible that my ecu is from a rev4 car, but from what I remember when I did the co...

Re: High Idle?

You could try the temperature sender. If this is faulty it doesn't know when to apply or shut off the choke settings. I believe this is the green bodied sensor fitter to the coolant outlet of the head, just above the gearbox. I think it was about 30 from Mr T, it cured my idle issues

Not to worry, I've got a lot to do to get the mk1 ready for the engine first before I really need an ecu, cheers for checking it out for me though

Re: St205 ECU

I know you have this sorted, but do you have the details of the guy with the st205 ecu. I have my rev 3 turbo ecu, but I'm fitting a chargecooler, so could be up for a swap

Re: IS200 sports alloy wont fit my car what size spacers

You won't get them on there with the Lexus tyres, as they are too high a profile, thus the tyres rub on the spring seats. You can run without spacers, as I did for a while, but I then put 20mm on the rear, I still have these floating around somewhere

Re: Georgie - Rev 3 Turbo

Excellent work there David, nice to see it coming along. Have you done anything with the coilovers yet? I bet you can't wait to get back on the road with it, I'm seriously missing driving an MR2. My engine is still on its cradle untouched in 6 months, and the mk1 has sat since it spat it's oil out i...

Re: poor rear lights - recommendations for brighter bulbs pls

The problem isn't always so much with old lenses or lamps, but old wiring. The resistance will have increased over the years, so if you were to meter the wires at the tail lights you will see a drop. I have found fitting a new earth wire from the light connector to somewhere close to the cluster can...

Re: ** Milton Keynes Social 26/04/14 **

Thanks for the offer, but if it's a dry day I need to crack on with welding up my vitara, I need to get it back on the road in the next two weeks now, got a lot of welding to get done in that time!
