Re: Radiator/abs help needed
is it a front or rear abs sensor that is dead? either way it's just steering arm or track control arm, shock, take the caliper off without undoing the hose (cable tie it to the shock), lower ball joint (either one big bolt or 2 small ones, which ever you prefer. That's it, except at the rear where y...

Re: Radiator/abs help needed
The bumper does not need to come off to change the rad. Leave it be. The rad comes out the bottom, so just the undertrays to worry about, which often have bolts that snap. Doesn't stop changing the rad but means drilling and tapping the holes again if you want the undertrays back on there. Sometimes...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Clutch line pic request.
looks like the wrong cable at the hard line end.. how is that going to be held in with the spring clip? the other end (slave) looks ok. I had a similar problem with the HEL hose, which also had the wrong fitting at the chassis end. this is a stock one.. you can't quite see the groove where the sprin...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Coolant bottle delete
sure driving it will heat the water better and make peak temps higher. also you have to think of year round temps, just becuase on one day the starting temp is 4*c, doesn't equal the same amount of coolant expansion as a cold day from below 0. I've not measured my running car's overflow and my other...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] MR2 turbo rebuild
first bet would be an air leak. anything from a cracked idle valve to duff intake gasket to injector O-rings etc. is the vacuum piping at the rear of the intake all correctly plumbed? mef sensor can be a git when they go, best search on how to test them as not had the pleasure yet. is the vacuum hos...

Re: Whine- Seemingly from Engine
the only other causes could be the AC idler pulley or the water pump. As said above, if you are at speed and dip the clutch, can the sound still be heard? Wheel bearings can whine but do so with road speed and tend to get louder with more speed. you can test the alternator by removing the belt and c...

Was looking at the same line of brakes too. Please report back once you get a chance to test these out.
What size rotor did you go for?
Is that the narrow/smaller caliper or the larger one? sorry can't remember the proper names off the top of my head.

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Coolant bottle delete
the car expels like a 0.5-1ltr of fluid once up to temp and has had a little boost in it. you should not be removing it at all! you are asking for a massive blow out or major rupture of a hose somewhere. some cars expansion tanks work different to others, but you shouldnt be removing it. Just did s...

Normally the coil gets cracks in it and then water finds it's way in. would be my first guess.

Re: Water ingress into frunk and boot
at the front it's normally nice and dry in there, but let the local hand carwash place have a go and they chucked a bucket of water over the car, the frunk had water in it after that. only place I could see was the seals as they were a bit squashed. think the amount of water overfilled the drains ar...

Re: Changed ECU now I’m back too KMPH?
The ecu has no effect on the speedo reading.
maybe the converter on the back of the dials is dead?
The system sends speed direct from the gearbox to the dials, then on to the power steering ecu and the engine ecu.
