Re: Aluminium front splitter - prototype made w/pics

You did a good job with that splitter Cal. The canards look pretty mean too. I'm wondering if it'd be possible to brace through the grill to some bracketry hanging off of the radiator?? Perhaps with the fog lights removed. Another option would be to drill holes in the undertray and brace directly up...

Re: Aluminium front splitter - prototype made w/pics

If you're gonna go for a big splitter I'd think about trying to brace to the front structure rather than the relatively flimsy bumper as this will increase both strength and stiffness of the assembly. Also, running your undertray as far back as possible will increase downforce, particularly if you h...

Re: Track Day - Drive By Limits -

I've seen a load of super loud cars go round Snetterton on track days I've attended with no issues on the drive by limit.

As others have said, if you pass static you'll almost certainly be fine! Do they test it at the pit wall? Maybe keep to the far side of the track if you're worried ;)

I'd potentially be up for a meet. I'm based in Norwich so it'll be about an hour and a half's drive for me.

Re: welcome to my basket case.

How do you achieve so much in such a short space of time?!

I've procrastinated getting someone to spray my bumper for like 3 months lol.

Anyways, great work.

Re: Patrick's 1999 Cosmos Blue NA T-Bar

I'm hoping changing the fog bulbs will be a lot easier without the bumper on the car. Fingers crossed I can extract the screws somehow and fit bigger screws in their place. If not I'll come up with something.... perhaps a 3D printed replacement. I have a similar issue with the rear number plate ligh...

Re: Patrick's 1999 Cosmos Blue NA T-Bar

Thanks!

I already have a replacement bumper sourced. Just need to organised getting it sprayed, then I can fit it.

That'd also be a good time to replace the broken foglight bulb as the screws are rusted in there pretty good!

Patrick's 1999 Cosmos Blue NA T-Bar

Hi everyone. I've been lurking around the forums for a while now (I don't post much) and thought I'd start a little section on my current MR2. She's on 63K miles, has a K&N filter, and Magnex exhaust as fitted by previous owner. When I got it I serviced her and changed a sticky front calliper. I...

Nankangs and Falkens, can't remember which axle is which.

Think it was my own inexperience rather than a mechanical issues though.

Re: Snetterton 21st November Full Day Open Pit £109

You guys didn't miss much. It was wet all day, went out for the sighting laps and the car was all over the place. Watched everyone go round for a bit, then decided to take the car out. I didn't even make it round a full lap before spinning! Called it a day at that point as it wasn't worth risking da...

Re: Someone crashed into my car - insurance want to write it off!

Raptor - It does suck but could've been a lot worse... we were both physically alright. Luckily I don't ride a motorbike because that could have been nasty! Yes I am assuming the crash bar will need replacing or at least have the dent pulled out! I am tempted to start sourcing parts, if I had all th...

Re: Someone crashed into my car - insurance want to write it off!

qwakers - After rereading my first post I see it was misleading. My insurer (Admiral) wanted to write it off. Her insurance (Tesco) are offering to try to sort out a cash settlement. Should know on Monday what the offer is. No doubt there will be a lot of haggling back and forth (oh joy!). Paul - I ...

Someone crashed into my car - insurance want to write it off!

Looking for advice / a space to rant! So after spending a long time looking for the right MR2, two months after I bought it, on Thursday morning some stupid woman changed lanes from stationary traffic into my lane as I was doing 25 - 30 mph. Managed to slow down to 15 ish mph before impact... Here's...

Snetterton 21st November Full Day Open Pit £109

I'm booked in on Monday the 21st with my Rev 5 NA.

If anyone fancies it and can get the day off of work it should be a laugh! I'll be there with a couple of people (probably in a Clio 172 and an Astra VXR).

Dark Grey Mk2 in Wymondham

You're opposite my office near the police station. Can't tell the rev from here but it looks pretty clean and is a t-bar.

I also occasionally see a medium blue mk2 on the A11 on their way into Norwich in the mornings. Presumably someone is commuting?
