The engine only gives a single brief blip of revs as it starts and then is ok after that.

4agze Supercharged Engine Start Issue- any advice appreciated
Hi all, I have finished the install of a 4AGZE engine from a Corolla Levin AE92 into my Mk1 and it is going really well but it does have a minor issue on starting that I am trying to solve. Immediately after start it gives a very brief blip of revs that lasts less than a second and peaks at about 30...

MR2 Roadster Alloys for sale. Excellent Condition.
I have four 15" roadster alloys for sale. They have no tyres and are in exceptional condition. There is practically no corrosion and only a few very small chips or scratches to the paint that you have to really look for. The centre caps are the smart blue ones. I am looking for £50. If any one ...

4age to 4agze conversion
I am in the process of installing a 4agze from a Corolla Levin AE92 into a Mk1 MR2. I have replaced the FWD layout intercooler and pipes for the ones to suit the MR2. If at ant stage you need a pipe or two give me a shout.

4agze oil cooler question
Hi I am trying to install a Corolla Levin AE92 supercharged engine in my Mk1. It came crudely installed in a track car Mk1 and had a big radiator style oil cooler fitted. My feeling is this oil cooler is lilely to be way too much for a road car and I have been trying to find out how the oil cooler s...

Thanks for all the advice.
Hi Thanks for all the advice regarding my Supercharger gearbox and clutch questions. It is great that a standard box will work since I have a good one of them complete with a skimmed flywheel and brand new NKK clutch. A Mk3 gearbox LSD sounds like a good upgrade. I will keep an eye out for one fo th...

Mk1 Supercharger Flywheel/Clutch/Gearbox Question
Hi I am restoring a Mk1 that has been fitted with a 4agze engine from a Corolla Levin. The engine is mated up to a standard Mk1 MR2 gearbox rather than the chunkier SC gearbox. The flywheel is also pretty standard looking since it does not have the turret like bits that SC flywheels have. My questio...

What fuel pump for Supercharger conversion?
Hi I am converting my Mk1b to a late model 4agze from a Corolla Levin. The engine is standard apart from the usual bigger SC pulley. I have taken the tank out and removed the standard fuel pump. Does anyone have an idea of what flow rate will be required for the SC engine? I have been told that the ...

Supercharger
Thanks for the replies. I have changed the oil for some supercharger oil from fensport. The unit seems to rotate freely and the clutch was engaging when I energised it. The SC relay was knackered so I tried manually switching the SC on and it did engage however it did sound a bit noisey when operati...

Supercharger unit - what to check for?
Hi I am in the process of transplanting a supercharger engine from a AE92 corolla into my Mk1. I am changing the head gasket at the same time and I have removed all of the manifolds, supercharger etc. While I have the supercharger unit on the bench I want to check it over. Does any one know what I s...

Supercharger Oil- What type?
I want to change the oil in the supercharger on my 4agze but I cannot find any consistent info regarding what to use. The Toyota supercharger oil seems to cost about £40 for 50ml !!! One oil supplier that I spoke to said just use 5w40 engine oil but another source of info said that the oil needs to ...

Removing the tbar roof lining
There is a simple method of getting the roof lining off without damaging it. The roof lining is held on by an overhanging border of the felt like roof cloth that is stuck down with double sided tape. The tape is much stronger than the cloth and so pulling it off is not an option however carefully it...

oil leak
I once had a situation like this after an oil filter change. I changed everything up to and including the sump gasket in an attempt to cure it (I was young and learning the hard way). In the end I found the brand new champion oil filter had a bad seam that leaked when the oil was hot!

Yellow Mk2 T-Bar Turbo with Lsd for sale £1050
I am selling my MK2 on Pistonheads at the moment. The advert is one of the free non premium ones and so is hidden at the end of the listings after the first ten pages of adverts (set the search to- price Hi to Lo and look for the price of 1050). The advert reads- This car is a UK model 1993 MR2 with...

Stoneleigh Resto Show
Hi
I will be going to the show and will bring my overalls in case any help is needed with the gearbox change. I have done a couple of gearbox changes and it can be a pig to do single handed because the gearbox is so heavy. See you all there.

Acceleration problem
Thanks for all of the ideas everyone. I have now changed the coil pack but sadly that does not seem to have cured the problem. I will have a look at the cold start injector next. I have a vague memory of one member writing a post about how setting the ignition timing properly made his car much smoot...

Charcoal Canister Removal
Is it possible to replace the charcoal canister with an expansion tank? I have an untraceable coolant leak and so I need to check the expansion tank level often. At present I am having to use a torch and a mirror to check the level. Does any one know of a tank that would fit in place of the canister?

[Mk2] [Turbo] Mk2 turbo - jerky acceleration when cold problem.
Hi
My Rev2 turbo is jerky under acceleration in the mornings for the first couple of miles and then smooths out. I have changed the spark plugs, ignition leads, dizzy cap and rotor arm and it has not cured the problem. Does anyone have any ideas about what to try next?

Injector cleaning
I sent mine to an outfit near Swindon called Injector Tune. They did a good job and even replaced all of the seals with new ones. The engine was much smooter after the cleaning and the tickover was massively improved. They even did a before and after flow test. Their website was - www.injectortune.c...
