Re: 2GR options for 400-500bhp
I'll deffo be keeping an eye on that. I'll be doing the very least I can to the engine, Basically just rods and pistons. Them doing an ecu does sound vedy appealing! Would take the headache of needing a base map then a proper map out of the equation. Is it a toyota ecu they're going to use?

Re: 2GR options for 400-500bhp
Cheers bud, I actually am following the nixspeed kit. I did think about a supercharger but they are just so expensive compared to a turbo kit. I can have turbo exhaust manifold made to whatever spec I want delivered for about 1200. On the other hand a bone stock 2gr with a charger bolted on would pr...

Re: 2GR options for 400-500bhp
Yeah, Much more modern. Loads of aftermarket support, There's no question i'll be going 2gr. My mate is already well underway with his build! I'm still in the middle of sorting my cracked block on the 3s.

That's my block been to the machine shop. Bores measured for roundness (bores are perfect). Decked and honed. New rings, timing belt (it's been on the engine 4 years now), new head gasket and new main bearings. Hopefully sorted for summer or sooner!

Re: Returning Member - The Black Beauty
The boy i just bought my new block off (from Scotland but lives in Coventry) also wants to do it as well. Could deffo make a wee event out of it providing covid allows. Yeah I'd be keen, will have to play it by ear with covid though! I reckon this summer will be touch and go with events etc. Yeah d...

Re: Returning Member - The Black Beauty
Good to see you back dude! I'm hoping to do the NC500 over a couple of days this summer. Could potentially turn it into an mr2 based thing? I appreciate you'd have to drive the length of the country to get here mind you!

You have to put an asking price as per the forum rules.
If i get a chance i'll add your pics to here and sort out the advert but you must state your asking price.

Decided to keep hold of all this. I may sell the engine complete as a package once I've finished my 2gr build.

Re: Driftworks Coilovers - HSD
Interesting! over 10 years on, and I'm back to square one - looking at coilovers again for the tubby I picked up last December. I think I'd be keen on getting the BCs again - this time with the adjustable/pillowball top mounts. and make sure the threads are properly coated/protected because I do re...

3sge bud. Same as yours
Little known fact about the oil squirter situation. The oil squirters are on ALL UK engines. A JDM NA does not come with oil squirters, Only the turbos do.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Ct fitment hybrids?
I would. But single is much less complicated plus I can get a turbo exhaust right off the shelf. I have it all planned out :) Would be cool actually having a twin turbo mr2 mind you :) I would say the 2gr is semi modern. It's coil on plug and VVTi. All alloy block (lighter than the 3sgte). Variants ...

Unfortunately the MR2 scene has become one with only people that are tighter than a ducks ar*e.
He was offered full asking price within a few hours. So I have to dispute that ð

Going 2GR turbo now man. Probably just use the turbo I have. A 3.5 litre will spool it extremely quick.

I must be getting mixed info. From what I've read the 3vz was prone to head gasket issues. I'm set on a 2gr anyway so it's irrelevant

Re: 2GR options for 400-500bhp
Spoke to a friend about the 3vz. Single overhead cam? It baffles me you've even mentioned this Rob. You know your stuff. 2GR has VVTi etc. Absolutely no comparison between these two whatsoever. As I previously mentioned as well the 2GR known to make a reliable 420bhp with forced induction in the Lot...
