Re: 1.2 Clio puts MR2 ownership in perspective!
Lol - you lot should try my daily runner... wait for it... 1995 1.1 Fiesta Classic! I have to rev it hard as you like to get it to do 70 and it was a whopping 48 bhp when it was new! You're now talking around 18 seconds 0-60... the only thing it has going for it is that it's only done 40,000 miles a...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] nvi
I bought my car from NVI last year. 1st rate service, I have never dealt with anyone trying to sell something who is as straight up as Tom. No messing around, no hard sell, just quality cars. My advice - go for it! The one thing I wish I'd done is get Tom to take me out in his mk2 spider

Re: mitsubishi FTO
Are we talking imports here? The only ones i know of are the V6 GPX auto and V6 GPX manual both of which have just shy of 200bhp. Thats UK models though. I don't know anything about imported ones. I'm sure someone told me once that they were never actually sold in this country, so every one that yo...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Where to fix HARNESSES?
The previous owner of my car fixed his in by drilling 2 holes through the firewall and attaching bolts to them - they were directly behind the passenger seat and came up 1 behind the heat shield and 1 clearly visible in the engine bay. Still not totally sure where he fixed the other 2 mounts though,...

Re: How Do You Take The Fog Lights Appart - MK2
Actually, you can quite easily get the fog lights apart. I've just reconditioned 3 pairs of them (incl 1 steering pair). It requires a lot of time, and a very powerful hairdryer. From what I can work out, toyota put a layer of hot glue in to the plastic housing, clip the lens in place with the metal...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Power Steering
Just to add a bit more detail - I have tonight checked for ECU error codes and there were none. I also tracked down the noise and it's definately coming from the motor to the left of the battery, mounted in the floor. I can't get under it until Friday to take a look at the other side, but that's my ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] HELP boot wont open
Worst case? Worst case would be cutting a hole in the rear bumper behind one of the wheels, unscrewing the vent and reaching all the way into the boot to release the mechanism! Fortunately when I removed the lock from my boot and then closed it I didn't have the rear bumper on my car...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Power Steering
Not sure whether this should be in Mechanical or Electrical - I guess the answer to the problem will decide! First some background. About 8 months ago I parked my car in a hedge, which had hidden about its person a rather thick oak fence with concrete posts in it. After picking up the various pieces...

Re: mitsubishi FTO
Plus the option of the weirdass INVECS2 Porsche auto gearbox which supposedly 'learns' your gearchange points via a tiptronic style system. There were 2 straight 4's and a V6 from what I remember, 1.8 and 2 2.somethings. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitsubishi_FTO . I am trying to blag one of th...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Airbags
I've got a MK3 (1994) tubby in which the previous owner had installed a TOMs (It has their logo on it anyway) steering wheel, which IMHO is horrible to drive with. It feels like it's been polished so it slides out of your hands far too easily, it's literaly impossible to activate the horn without pu...

Something I bought from linitx.com - it's the M1-ATX I think. My PCB skills only extend as far as the bit of stripboard that's hanging off the atx power plug

Hello mate! I got incredibly jealous when I saw it, looks and sounds amazing. It's the same colour as mine but unlike mine is still in one piece! Is it running a standard exhaust / intake? And how did you fit a snowboard in?!

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] in car pc... i need help.. dont know where to start
Hello Mate, I'm making an in-car mini xbox at the moment, and there are plenty of 12V DC ATX power supplies you can get from suppliers of mini-itx kit, like linitx.com or itx-warehouse.co.uk. They do clever things like switching the pc on with the ignition etc, and you do away with having inverters ...

2 Carribean Blue MK2 Imports in/around Milton Keynes
1 on Monday, definately a tubby, in the xscape car park (round the back near the airkix thing). Personalised plate, A17xxx w/lexus clusters and what looked like TSW's and border or bomex skirts. 1 quite regularly, import but not sure whether it's a tubby or not. Seen going between Buckingham and Han...

COPY Air Walker Rear Bumpers - gauging interest
Hi Guys, I have a 100% genuine original air walker rear bumper (see my garage for pics or here and here (2nd & 3rd cars are nowt to do with me, just some pics i found) which I am prepared to make some copies of. Those of you who have tried looking will know that the airwalker kit is pretty rare ...

[Mk2 Turbo] Removing aftermarket boost gauge (maybe)
My car has recently been imported and I think it's previously had an aftermarket boost gauge on it. There's a rubber hose under the (front) bonnet that is just coiled up and doesn't go anywhere, just to the left of the battery and it's right next to a small hole in a metal pipe. Now I figured this i...
