Re: Retrofit aircon to UK NA?
Likewise I don't think the right wiring would be in place on a UK car to run the JDM parts. If you take a look under the dash on a UK car without aircon, you'll find the plug for the aircon control unit with a shunt in it to convert the wiring to non-aircon. I've not checked all the wiring, but it'...

Re: Retrofit aircon to UK NA?
This is something I intend to seriously look into at some point. My current idea would be to use the Toyota compressor, evaporator and control unit, and consider non-standard condensor and drier. I'm expecting most of the wiring is already in place but personally I would expect to construct and run ...

Affected
It's in the slip ring, which you don't touch when replacing the steering wheel.

Re: steering wheel
As far as I understand, all Toyota steering wheels physically fit on the spline. Figuring out the horn is the question and I can't believe it's going to be a big issue.

MR2OC version is here: https://www.mr2oc.co.uk/know-your-2/mk2 ... bartid=208
Doesn't have a photo of the exact wire, just a description.
I should make a video for headlight control mods sometime...

Re: Tyre size advice
Having been doing some reading I think the 235 / 40 is out of the question for a 9 inch rim. Why? It's within the generally accepted tyre width range for that wheel size and results in only a little stretch. (I know this as I'm running exactly that combo on my NA). I can understand preferring a 245...

Re: To Shim or not to shim that is the question!
I had squeaky fronts on Cosmos Eagle a decade ago (although I called her Cosmos Kitt back then) and got some new anti-squeal shims from Mr T which sorted it out. I generally aim to run shims when possible. However I'm pretty sure I also run pads without them on occasion without issue... although I w...

Re: 3s-GTE ‘putt putt’ sound
Are you sure it's not a leak from the exhaust manifold or turbo gasket? A slightly loose manifold or a small blow on the gasket can cause a slightly whispy put-put sound.

Re: Speed limiter removal - changing clocks?
I have seen a few references to people saying that changing the clocks to 160MPH UK clocks on a turbo also disables (or possibly raises?) the speed limiter. The speed limiter is very much still in place in my car. Is this complete b0ll0cks? It's complete BS. The type of dials have no affect on the ...
