Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Help With passenger footwell connectors

That looks like IE1, which is one of the main connectors between the front and back of the car, but carrying ancillary things rather than things that run the engine. Things running through there includes speedo input to the ECU (purple/white - the car will eventually go into limp mode without it), t...

Looking forward to seeing the fronts done... would love a kit like this, but would need to fit it under 16s. The clearance on your rears looks promising!

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Starter clicking

Yup, you'll want to take a good look at the ripped out wiring. Assuming it was an Ai606 Toad (4 button remote) the remote start is on the blue and black wire and, given you're not turning the key, that may well have something to do with it. That blue/black would be connected to the red starter wire ...

Thanks. 90mm ones like this, I presume? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/90MM-COB-Angel-Eye-Halo-Ring-LED-Driving-Turn-Signal-Light-Headlight-Lamp-Cover/153184024381 A quick search d...

Does the whine change in pitch with road speed, engine speed or neither?

Interesting idea and one I've entertained before. What kind of units did you use?

Personally I'm not a fan of the blue-ish, cool-white LEDs. Do they come in warm white?

Re: Water ingress into frunk and boot

Spoiler bolt holes (and thus the rubber hole un the underside of the spoiler) and antenna drain pipe (is if poked through the grommet in the book floor) are both places to check too. If it only happened when driven, I would check the seams onto the arch, they're notorious for rotting through.

Re: Inaccurate Tacho & Fuel Gauge

Point us towards online copies of the install manuals and I'll have a read.

It would also help to know how you've wired them in so far, and whether you're using them as well as or instead of the stock cluster.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Can noisy fuel pump be the issue?

Where is best place to get a genuine coil pack.. Toyota ?? First check if yours is genuine or not. I actually ordered a used one from a breaker on ebay. In fact, I looked up the part number and got the same part from a Lexus for half the price of the used part from an MR2 turbo. Edit: Before you as...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Can noisy fuel pump be the issue?

Replacing the fuel pump is a bit of a PITA. Ignition components are certainly the place to start. I'd start by inspecting your spark plugs... or just replacing them unless you know they're pretty new, as that's just regular servicing anyway. Then check your coil pack isn't cracked and is genuine Toy...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Can noisy fuel pump be the issue?

Running rich is not the result of a weak pump. Aftermarket pumps are often a bit noisier and it's not surprise that the tone of the whine changes when you do things that cause the car's voltage to reduce (especially with the engine off). The Walbro is almost certainly capable of providing more press...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Over boosting after turbo rebuild

From the little reading I have done, and what i have learned though this process is it seems that it's how worn your turbo (Or possibly housing) is so maybe a good thing for you Shinny! As it is only some cars it must be so marginal! I was re-reading part of my old project thread... back in 2015, j...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Silicone hose

That's just standard black silicone hose... the ribbed effect is more often seen on cheaper hoses. Universal ones come straight or in standard angles (30,45,60,90,135) and aren't as flexible as the one I posted. Alternatively there are bespoke ones made for specific uses, and packs do exist for some...
