Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] LSD problem?
Checked ball joints? Maybe Alignment? Coilover damping totally different on different sides? Inner trackrod ends causing play? Usually when a stock diff fails it just behaves like an open diff eg car drives fine but one wheel will spin up before other under different driving conditions. This is why ...

Stands for Idle Air Control Valve. Prone to failing on many cars. Just changed my mates bmw one as it was doing similar things to yours eg stalling at junctions or revs dropping off.

[Mk2] [Turbo] Emissions for MOT
Just passed my MOT with just 1 advisory for slight play in one drop link so I am quite chuffed with that. Was looking at my emission report though and few things seem pretty borderline. Am I looking at a new lambda soon or is everything ok? Results below for stock rev3 turbo with 152kilometers on cl...

Hi mate, dont know weather you sorted this but I nicked a few from the scrappy (there the same on camry/corolla/avensis etc.) My Rev 3 Turbo part number was 89422-20010 and all the others were 89422-35010 I checked on camskill and it list there sensor as a replacement for both 89422-20010 & 8942...

Aftermarket dump valve fitted by any chance? You can usually kiss goodbye to a few mpg on a rev 1/2 with a non recirc valve.

Re: Cars without BOV's
I would imagine the cars you were looking at were running steel shafted/different turbo's to the toyota ct range. With them being ceramic, they can be quite brittle so not having a bov will destroy them pretty quick! Even with a steel shaft/impellers, I wouldnt think it would do the lifespan of the ...

I got Enkei rims with huge centre bores and spent bout an hour at a local tyre place trying different ones. If you look on Ebay, it lists the difference in size eg 67.1 - 60.1. Just measure the bore and then they should fit?

Re: Replacing Hubs
Just a suggestion, Leave wheel on and car on the deck. Remove split pin and loosen hub nut first. These can be solid!! I broke a breaker bar and socket on mine. In the end used a breaker bar with a metre long piece of scaffold pole on the bar for leverage!! Then do as Slarty recomends. New ball join...

Re: struggleing to choose suspension?
absolutley agree. I had some very rare 'jdm' ohlins (out of the phoenix power catalogue) when I got my Rev 3 and they were awful. Rock hard no matter where the damping was set. It made the car skittish with no progressive control. Probably perfect for the race track but useless on UK roads. I think ...

Re: Toyota Badging
If you really want one just get a badge, trim the locating pins off with a stanley knife and use an adhesive like sicaflex(spelling???) or Tigerseal to bond it on. really wouldnt mess about swapping boot lids. Would cost about 2 quid to do as Im sure someone would give you there badge after debadgin...

been a while since had a NA but I would imagine a badge of that size would have 2 prongs to attach it. If no one else knows a call to Toyota dealer should confirm.

Re: Toyota Badging
Its a UK thing mate.
All UK models had Toyota written where the Turbo's GT/S badge was, the Toyota symbol in middle and something to do with the engine size on the right (GTi2.016V or something like that!!??)

Re: Suspension overhall - where to buy parts?
I would imagine in some cases they could get that corroded/stuck in that it shatters the bearing when trying to remove. This would render the hub pretty useless as after you have tried to clean the hub out the new one will never 'bed' in right but most of the time they are pretty straight forward.
