Re: The Turbonoz MR2 Budget Beast: 487bhp & 364lb·ft

I always use BCR8ES's in mine :thumleft:

Have you still got stock rod bolts?

That'd be my main concern if you're revving past 7.8k.

Good going on the stock block though!

Just don't break it till you get some runs in

Fensport CT26 Stage 3 Hybrids are supposedly good for 360bhp and Turbotechnics 380bhp.

Dont know about the Blitz ones but would imagine they're as good if not better.

Don't believe everything you read :)

On a ct26 hybrid I doubt it.

Some management would make the most of it

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Nitrous injection

It is a good way to get a bolt on performance increase but I doubt you'll end up using it on a daily basis as you don't get that much spray time out of a mid sized bottle and you'll probably end up saving it for the dragstrip after the initial novelty wears off, lol. I removed my bottle from the fr...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Opinions on forged rev 3 with standard ct20b

Flywheel power. Been put down to the rev 2 inlet not being very good as had plenty of fuelling left but couldn't get anymore power from it. Car runs well, all timing marks line up, decent compression on all cylinders, ran a 13.2 second 1/4 mile so maybe the RR was very pessimistic. What dyno? It's ...

Re: [All] [Generic] Exhaust manifold fabrication

No question about the quality of the full-race manifolds. I've hung a T4 turbo, 2x external gates, with screamer pipes and a 4" side exit exhaust with no support's and upto now hasn't cracked. (I reaaly should support it). Only trouble is it's not a top mount manifold, although im sure they'd m...

So anything above stock boost on pump fuel, you're going to get detonation and pop the gasket/ringland.........

It simply wouldn't allow you to select the gear sometimes, unless you double clutched it. Interesting what you say about it potentially being linked to a new gearbox. The owner did say he had a receipt showing the car had been fitted with a replacement gearbox. He did say it drove fine. I didn't te...

Re: Introducing the “Dark Fury” project – 400rwhp ATS 2.3L 5SFE GTX3076

Nice build. Why not go with the late 5s block though? Thanks for the feedback. After speaking with ATS, we decided that I wasn't going to see any benefit going with the late 5S for the power goals / usage I had in mind. $400 was better spent toward the turbo! Nice car and a 2.3L ATS stroker too! Ho...

It was a few years ago now, but iirc I just removed the main fuse for it under the bonnet, iirc!

Eventually I ripped it all out and swapped the distribution block for the non abs unit.

Re: Who's removed there abs?

On my old rev1 I removed it as it was terrible!

It used to come in when it was no where near locking up, and like others have said anytime going over a slight bump etc it used to do the same.

Apparently on the later revs it was better, but I've never had abs on a rev3.

Re: Dyno coming up..Guess my HP

i was thinking of mixing an alcohol blend with the fuel perhaps? I recall reading that this doesn't work too well as they tend to separate in your tank instead of staying mixed... Power pour would be the best bet, short of race fuel. But is it worth it if your not going to be adding it normally?
