Re: MR2 AW11 Front Valance corners,Part No ?. ...

Here’s a few pics of mine – firstly a comparison of 1a ( on the car ) and 1b ones http://img571.imageshack.us/img571/9549/73097962.jpg You can clearly see how the 1a ones go all the way to the midpoint, with a separate one-piece plastic lip underneath them. Here’s the other side of the 1a – rather r...

Re: MR2 AW11 Front Valance corners,Part No ?. ...

There was a guy on ebay last year offering a complete one-piece front end which included valance, splitter, and bumper - all done in grp. IIRC it was very expensive ( £500+ ) and there was only 1 available, which didn't sell

Re: MR2 AW11 Front Valance corners,Part No ?. ...

I suspect that if you tried to produce a vacformed part that size from the same material as R/C car bodies ( lexan/polycarbonate ) you'd need to make it a lot thicker to make it stiff enough - which would make it both heavy ( feel the weight of a crash helmet visor, then imagine something the size o...

Re: MR2 AW11 Front Valance corners,Part No ?. ...

If the diagram is accurate they are 1b ones as don't reach to centreline of the car and fit the 2 part splitter. The 1a ones are longer and meet in the middle of the car, with a one-piece plastic splitter underneath them.

Given the angularity of the extended wings I'd guess it was homemade, possibly from alloy sheet :-k

Remember that they are different depending on whether you have a 1a or 1b

Re: Corolla gt-s head

This is the thread that Kyle was referring to Seems to contain some incorrect information http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9010 Further skewed by being a US based forum - the US 4A engines have yet another spec due to their emission requirements e.g. their 1a bluetops gave abou...

I think it should fit - as the reason it is used on the big pulley conversions is that it is smaller diameter than the standard one

Re: Corolla gt-s head

Well i have been skimming over the tinternet and found a webpage about engine swaps and there is a guy there who put the big port head age engine in his mk1.... Errr - the Mk1 came with the bigport engine as standard, the 1a with the 'blue top' 3 rib block version, the 1b with the 'red top' 7 rib b...

Re: Corolla gt-s head

The GT-S name was applied to various incarnations of NA Corolla/Sprinter models eg. AE86, AE92, AE98 etc. so a 'GT-S head' could be almost any version of 4A-GE head

Re: Water in Footwells

You can also rub some silicone grease onto the rubbers to soften them - after years of exposure to the elements the rubber tends to stiffen a little and not seal as well

http://imageshack.us/a/img803/6169/springg.jpg Unless you know the make/model of the aftermarket coilover you may have trouble getting new springs to match ( or pay to have them tested and new ones made to match ) - as long as they still perform OK maybe just get them cleaned up and repainted :-k

Re: My AW11 Fritzinger widebody. Some years of work in pictures

No poles, trees, no cars, etc coming t'other way ..... Any armco is covered in thick padding where I go IIRC a few years ago a Mk1 MR2 racecar was involved in a very heavy front end collision - it had no bumper bar fitted, and the remaining front structure of the car did a very good job of absorbin...
