Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] A question for anyone running 264 cams with standard rev 3 ECU
Hi Jim, yeah ISCV was the first thing I checked. Confirmed it's physically functional, electrically in spec and the 12v supply and harness to the ECU is OK. Got a new ECU on the way in the post to rule that out aswell but don't have high hopes that'll fix it. Had you degreed your 264s all the way to...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] A question for anyone running 264 cams with standard rev 3 ECU
OK, that is much more useful information, thanks! I'm not running stock ECU permanently, just using it to run in my freshly built engine and want to ensure everything is running correctly mechanically and electrically first to have a stable platform from which to start tuning with the standalone. (A...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] A question for anyone running 264 cams with standard rev 3 ECU
Hi, thanks for your input.
But really I just want somebody who is running 264 cams in a rev 3 engine on stock ECU to tell me if their engine can idle at stock idle rpm, in order to aid my diagnostic process.
Are you running 264 cams in a rev3 with a stock ECU?

2ZZ-GE Corolla T-Sport - £800
Sorry not an MR2, but it is related, and would make a good engine donor for a Mk3. 2002 Toyota Corolla T-Sport VVTLi 190hp (187) Fitted with a Lotus Elise S2 190hp VVTL-I engine and 6 speed close ratio box (from the factory) Around 120k miles. It's a lot of fun to drive, engine has a 2 stage variabl...

[Mk2] [Turbo] A question for anyone running 264 cams with standard rev 3 ECU
Is anybody running a stock rev3 ecu with HKS 264 cams? If so,. Did you set cam timing to the HKS cam card? And with that timing does your car idle ok? Does it stall at all when off throttle I am trying to diagnose why my engine hunts for idle and stalls when off throttle, checked all the usual thing...

there is about 0.4mm difference in major diameter between a 1/8npt and a 1/8bsp thread. I'd suspect one of your fittings is bsp not npt

Do you have photo's of the dump valve? What condition is it in? Any guarantees that it's a genuine one?

Thanks,
Yeah the car is predominantly for track use so I will be either adding a silencer to the current pipe or buying another eventually, but due to a long list of other jobs to do it'll unlikely be done by February

So has anybody had experience of driving an mr2 turbo at Bedford?
Loud pipe? quiet pipe? did or did not have a problem?

Noise limits at Bedford Autodrome - any MR2's too loud for it?
I'm looking to book a trackday in February to get some practice in the MR2 before the year begins. Bedford is conveniently close for me but they seem very strict on noise (one strike and you're out). My car currently has a short 3" system with very little baffling so is at the louder end of the...

Yeah that does make sense, I hate searching for vac leaks, guess I'm my head I've been trying to put it off.
Will break out the boost leak tester and rule that out first!
Cheers

[Mk2] [Turbo] Advice/Experience wanted - Rev 2--> 3 Swap won't idle / poor idle
My engine is all back together and has done 500 miles of running in, but still won't idle right. Would like to hear other peoples experiences especially where a solution has been found. Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Using an SRT205 ECU - No Powersteering output
So from what I can gather from response, the answer to the question is.... The st205 ecu does not have any provision for mr2 power steering. You will lose the idle up (ps pin) and the powersteering cut when engine is not running. But - power steering will still cut at motorway speeds as intended and...

Hi, yeah ive removed the psct pin and the ps runs, but is there no problem to let it run all the time without having the ecu cut?
