Re: best place for front grooved brake discs?
I currently have a set of Black Diamond Grooved discs on my track car - 18 months in and 10 000 track miles (including to & from track) and they're still fine - although will be replaced next year. Anyone who knows my driving and/or been in a car with my will know how hard I am on brakes. Althou...

Re: best place for front grooved brake discs?
Drilled discs are rubbish because they are drilled after they have been cast. Same goes with Drilled & grooved. Decent disc manufacturers (i.e Brembo, AP Racing etc...) cast the discs with the holes - hence the price & quality. A mate has a GT3 RS - the discs of his choice cost £6k per axle ...

Looking good again Paul
Just a thought - the TRD & TOMs rad caps are good for 1.8Bar.
But then you wouldn't have near as much bling
(Oh and TRD doesn't quite fall into Euro tuning circles )

So two drivers in one car mid-week on the Indy layout in winter for £155?
Pity it's not the GP Layout. Indy is a bit pants (IMO)

Re: Engine Tuner Question
To what degree of "tuning" are you refering to?
Are you looking at increasing horsepower with cams, throttle boddies, EMS etc... or just day to day running on stock?

Get one of your failed alternators refurbished - only costs about £30 and then it's as good as new :thumleft: But your latest symptoms don't sound like the alternators failed - because you'd ordinarily get the warning lights. Sounds like power has be lost completely. Was it dark? did you have any ot...

Toni still has that chassis up for sale too.
I was seriously interested in it, but lack of time, money and more recently interest in taking on another project washed those dreams away.

Re: Hmm. Time for some attention to the brakes me thinks
I'd happily do it all at once but I like being able to eat and pay the mortgage as well. :D No offense, but if spending another £150 and 1/2 to a full day sorting them for the sake of paying the mortgage and to put food on the table, perhaps racing isn't right for you at the moment. You could suffe...

I think you'll regret not doing the bushes, balljoints & droplinks now. They really do make a massive difference. May as well make the best start to a season as you possibly can. You should see the prep that goes into prepping our Caterham Roadsports, Supersports, R300's & R400's for a race ...

It took Tom & I less than 30 minits to remove gearbox, fit new clutch and re-fit gearbox :thumleft: However, the engine was out the car :eye: Previous attempts with engines in cars have varied from just under 1/2 day to a full day - it depends how successfull you are at lining the box up with th...

Re: Spare Engine connectors near alternator
The number of flashes of the check light is what gives you the codes. So if it's not illuminating then you'll need an auxillary diagnostics tester.
But then I'd also be asking why the light does not illuminate too...

Thanks Toni. I was under the impression you did, but if not, then it breaks up the initial expense nicely
