Re: Dyno results. 420@ the hubs.
Just with a FPR. You run it different on the deadhead setup. The one i currently have blanked off is where the feed went and the return is normal. It could just be the case that it wasn't configured properly. Yeah it seems "deadhead" as you're describing is a little different to the OEM s...

Re: Dyno results. 420@ the hubs.
How were you controlling pressure with your setup? OEM's do it with either an in tank regulator, or by having the ECU monitor fuel pressure at the rail and control pump speed accordingly.

Lots of newer stuff has returnless rails, it was probably an implementation problem rather than an issue with the concept itself.

Re: Removing aftermarket dump valve
VTV is essential to the operation of the stock valve, must be connected up as stock to work.

Timing will help bring power in earlier, but its more a fine tuning tool than a magic unlock for the low end.

A good CT26 hybrid or a freshly rebuilt CT20b is your best budget option.

Re: Running gear refresh
Really got to be meticulous and go through it. Very easy to miss something, and you probably won't notice an excessively worn bushing unless you put a decent amount of force onto it with a pry bar or similar.

Horrible design and Waste of money! Not at all. If its a track car, this kit is excellent, and is worth the money. Wilhelm make all the data public if you care to have a look for yourself. You don't need that bloody geometry kit just for the car to drive nicely on the road. But also agree with this...

Cost them £20 + insurance / tax etc, they thought they had xxxxx it, so they essentially made £4k+ in a couple weeks.

Definitely go 5S if you're at engine rebuild territory. Extra 10% capacity will spool the turbo even quicker

which spec exactly? 1998 import (NA or turbo) is worth a fair bit now so absolutely fix. "HFH" suggests a turbo?
Even UK market Rev5's are going up, very hard to find a good one for peanuts these days like you used to.

Was having temperature issues last time we spoke and it has now a slight miss fire, Looks like it's going to be broken soon. So they beat the xxxx out of it for a few days and broke something... Dickheads. Unfortunately this is the nature of these raffles, high chance it'll go to someone who doesn'...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Gen3 3SGTE - best forged piston?
Don't overthink the CR. I have 9:01 in mine (and run 29psi of boost) The caldina engine also uses 9:01 with weaker rods. Todays fuel is very different than what these were running on 25 years ago. Can't say one piston brand is better than another. I have CPs in mine. No slap or unruly noises. Done ...

The slightly lower CR (8.5:1 stock) nothing to be concerned about / makes no noticable difference?

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Gen3 3SGTE - best forged piston?
I've heard multiple accounts of Wiseco suffering from very obvious piston slap, but there's multiple variables in play there and I certainly don't know enough to say its the piston, rather than multiple occurrences of the build not being dead on.

[Mk2] [Turbo] Gen3 3SGTE - best forged piston?
Hi all, Does anyone have any opinions on the various forged pistons that are on the market for the 3SGTE as to which one is best for a relatively standard engine, that might see a small frame turbo / ~370-400bhp some time in the future? Lets make a few assumptions - the block needs a small overbore ...

Mongoose: Not excessively loud, but does have a drone at certain RPM. Not sure if this is a product of the decat or exhaust itself. Sounds decent enough, not keen on the look of it.
