Re: IACV solutions when fitting aftermarket inlet manifold and throttle body
the few stock idle control valves I've played with are definite boost leaks, they don't cycle far enough to both fully shut and open enough to idle, regardless of what you did with the factory adjustment (which, iirc, is just preload on the return spring) when my IACV died on the rollers I got it ho...

Re: Burst inner CV joint at drag strip - where to get stronger ones in UK?
Worth noting the CRW ones come with a lifetime guarantee too, but I've also heard they are adapted, if anyone can find out where from that would be great for the Mr2 community  What power are you running and which strip did it break on? I have had a look but can't find anything other than they...

Re: IACV solutions when fitting aftermarket inlet manifold and throttle body
Can your ECU control a DBW throttle? If so then you can use the throttle for idle control, bearing in mind the larger the throttle plate the coarser the 'adjustment' of idle will be. I know people that run no IACV and just use a throttle stop like you described to control idle (or maybe 'keep the en...

Re: [All] [Turbo] standalone ecu boost spikes
Which model of boost controller have you got? Which turbo? Internal or external gate? Where are you taking your pressure source for both your boost controller and wastegate? How is your boost controller plumbed into your wastegate?

Re: Burst inner CV joint at drag strip - where to get stronger ones in UK?
"the driveshaft shop" in the states makes two different options of shafts too.. level 2 '550bhp' shafts which have porsche style 108mm inner cv's, and the '800bhp' shafts which have bigger inner and outer cv's, thicker shafts and new drive flanges.. they are $2000 though.. afaik the CRW be...

Re: [FINALIZED] Greddy OLED Profec Electronic Boost Controller
There's a lot of fakes going around of these ATM so if this is genuine I'd say not too bad price wise. The one on RHDjapan is £217 delivered + taxes so that must be close to £280/290. Glwts :thumleft: Any more info/proof on fake profec OLEDs? I know profec B spec 2 has been faked for years but I've...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Which is best block/head marriage?
We sectioned two rev3 blocks, and a rev1 block (and a rev 3 NA head)...I've probably still got them stashed away somewhere in Dad's workshop- next time I'm there I'll have a look. I don't think I had one with any extra material around the water pump though... The inconsistency in the cylinder walls...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Which is best block/head marriage?
Did you cut open any of the later "96+" 3s blocks with the extra meat around the water pump area Ashley? I wonder if there's any relationship between the 'revised' block casting and (potentially?) thicker/more consistent cylinder walls (this interests me as my car is a Jun 96 Rev 3 and doe...

if they are BC stage 2 then that's the cam card, easy to check if they are BC stg 2 by measuing a lobe with a micrometer to see if the lift tallies up

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Rev3 cams in a rev 2 head?
I may be wrong but I vaguely remember that the Rev 1/2 cams are actually a slight upgrade over the Rev 3+ cams. May also be talking complete rubbish though so don't take my word for it, might just be Rev 1 NA cams into a Rev 3 turbo head or something like that :-k other way round, rev 3+ turbo cams...

Re: Bigperm Mr2 ebay
I think it is a rev 4 - has the indicators on the wings, as opposed to the (much better looking) 'toblerones' If you were going to jump to conclusions, you'd probably guess the interior, after sitting for TEN years was probably a bit manky and mouldy and was replaced with whatever was on hand? I may...

Re: Bigperm Mr2 ebay
It's about 2-2.5k over priced as a starting point.. It looks nice but it's pretty much stock, bar the (admittedly quite nice) cosmetic stuff. The wheels are lovely, it's a crying shame they've been painted black tbh. The interior looks rubbish with the cheap cobra seats, and fake (99.99% sure) nardi...
