Re: [Mk2] [Generic] fuel fittings
I always buy speedflow where possible, they're the best AN fittings available in my opinion, there is a uk website. If I need to buy more than a handful of fittings then it's worked out cheaper in the past for me to buy Earl's fittings from summit racing in the states and pay the shipping and vat ra...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] fuel fittings
Where you're measuring the stock line fitting.. is that across the root or the crest of the threads? It's an m14x1.5 so the OD of those threads should measure out around 13.8mm. If the other m14 fitting you have screws right on then the bosch adapter fitting you have is probably bad/wrong. Torques s...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] fuel fittings
I've personally done this.. There are two ways, you can cut the hard line just aft of the stock flare fitting and use a 5/16 compression to -6an fitting https://www.holley.com/products/plumbing_an_fittings_and_hose/adapters/special_purpose_adapters/parts/165056ERL And then fit up the rest of the hos...

Re: 17" Volks Rays GT-N Alloys Split rims Staggered - SOLD
Very nice wheels but no way they're 8.5 and 9.5 widths with a 215 and 235 tyre fitting without any stretch.. do you know wheels are measured from the inside of the outer lips, so if you've measured from the outside to outside then you can take around an inch off, which would put them at 7.5/8.5 (pot...

Re: Car won't start with standard ecu
But with the commander you can get readouts of voltages etc I think? So if you know where they should be it can help narrow things down. Yeah you can; main menu, ETC, sensor/sw check It'll give you output voltages of sensors and a black or white dot depending on whether something is active or not b...

Re: Car won't start with standard ecu
The car I bought was misfiring and as I got an apexi power fc I couldn't read codes. I've just bought the standard ecu and fitted it. The car had an aftermarket ECU fitted... generally people fit one because their mods go beyond what the stock ECU can handle. The obvious mismatch would be bigger in...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Faulty Alternator ( diagnosed but wanted advice )
firstly.. yes, they should have known it wasn't right and should have contacted you to highlight any issues prior to tuning, rather than soldiering on regardless.. does it need remapping? it certainly needs to be checked, this is where "road mapping" falls flat on it's face because it's st...

So the 5 block has been delivered and ever thing looks good... so should I go the 2.2 route and just get done or stay 2. :thumleft: Are their any down side if going the 2.2 route? As in rev limated ect Cheers Rich Generally speaking; Longer stroke = worse rod/stroke ratio, higher piston speeds so i...

Re: TOM'S 96 Rev 3 GTS - BREAK ME UP, BEFORE YOU GO GO
What bride rail did you use? I bought the FG ones which are the lowest sidemount ones they make. http://bride-jp.com/en/seatrail/fg/ It's a Bride XL rail, part number T049XL, the only one they do which is wide enough for my seat, although it's the same base/slider as most of their other rails (the ...

Re: TOM'S 96 Rev 3 GTS - BREAK ME UP, BEFORE YOU GO GO
I had a little time to myself on saturday so I hoovered out the inside of my daily driver and decided to swap the seat rails in the MR2 the seat came out no problem and I dropped the seat onto the bride rail, it fit like a glove obviously http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af163/rob_ramsey/mr2%20tu...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Looks To Nice I need some help
maybe the WG spring was too weak and the boost controller is struggling to control, and/or the BOV is leaking. anyway.. we use the exact same belzona stuff at work (harsh marine engineering environment) and it is very good.. but not the right stuff for this situation imho.. the block is cracked, to ...

Re: Andy's Rev 3 Turbo - Project complete.
I remember from looking at your map that your boost control is open-loop wastegate duty cycle, rather than closed loop pressure tartget. With less load on the engine (no wind resistance to push against) you will always make less boost, and not as quickly than if you were on the road. What were your ...

If you really want coilovers I'd recommend Meister R's Thanks for the recommendation, Andy :) I think I'll prep and fit the Teins and go from there, if required. Anyone know where I can get boost piping made? Not keen on the current arrangement for the IC to inlet mani pipe, I'd like to get a singl...

Cheers gents, @craig, I still struggle for time/motivation but happy to chip away a little at a time.. averaging one day a month at the moment  , I'm 99% certain I won't bother with tax/mot/insurance this year as there's not much point but that money can go towards making sure it is 100% ready ...

Re: Alternative suspension options. WRX Coilovers on a MK1?
Even if they can be made to physically fit (I doubt it, they're different lengths and the top mounts are different for a start) it'd be a terrible idea.. springs and dampers specified for a front engined 4wd car is going to handle interestingly on a light MR car.

goo net and tradecarview are fun to look at, but as said above the prices are often ridiculous, you need to check the recent sales data from USS auctions to see what things are really worth..

well, it's been a while.. since the last update I've mainly been fixing things that were broken and breaking things that didn't need fixing you may remember back to nov 16 when I discovered after straightening the bent lip on the front N/S wheel (after my accidental verge incident) that the inner ba...

Re: Strange question, been told by Leeds specialist reboring...
Why would it be better to not have a rev 3 head or block is rev 2 better? Also quick question I'm getting 880 sard injectors and the specialist said the won't fit the standard injector rail.... Will they not? if you mean SARD/Denso 850cc side feeds (red top) then no, they aren't a direct fit as the...
