Re: Forum thanks

I don't think the forum software would be able to do something like that unfortunately.

It is a function on vB but I doubt it'll be on this version of phpBB. :(

I guess you mean the same as on the money saving expert forum?

Re: Question From Newbie Here

Feel free to PM or email me the piccies and I'll post them up for you. :thumleft:

the 15 post rule for piccies is a bit of a PITA, it could do with possibly being reduced to 5. :-k

Re: Question From Newbie Here

I'd change the oil and put some fresh fuel & plugs in for starters, while the pugs are out crank the engine by hand (socket on the bolt for the crank pulley). Alternator may well be seized up from being sat for so long. If you can loosen up the bolts for it and remove the belt then you can check...

Re: Gearbox removal

I've never removed any part of the suspension when doing a MK1 gearbox, just disconnect the drive shafts from the gearbox and then secure them up out of the way with summat like a bungee cord. :-k

I'd stick with a pair of axle stands, keep it simple.

Re: Gearbox removal

Getting it out is the easy bit, getting it back in is the ball ache if you don't have lifting gear (hoist or 2 buddies and a pole + rope). Thermostat housing just unbolts from the top of the gearbox and can be left hanging about, so need to drain the coolant. I'd drain the gearbox oil, although not ...

Have a look here Kev: https://www.vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk/

I guess it doesn't have the plate that's in your garage pic anymore.

Re: What spark plugs should I buy for My turbo?

Bog standard copper plugs as recommended in the bgb anything else on a stock engine is a waste of money BGB???? :? :clown: :? Whaaaaa? BGB is the 'Big Green Book', a bit of an inside term amongst Toyota nerds (I include myself in this). It's a catch all term for the Toyota workshop manuals, y...

Re: Anyone fancy Karting?

Ok say we make it 2pm on Saturday, then we should have everyone there and no one will be too inebriated to drive a kart.

I'd quite like to get it booked up by the end of say June as there might just be a few other folks from JAE thinking the same. :-k

Re: Anyone fancy Karting?

Not sure how early I'll be about on the Friday but if it's at a time that I'm there I'll be interested. Possibly one to do Sunday before heading home? Timing is pretty flexible. Not sure about Sunday though, driving home with karting adrenaline and sore arms. What time do you think you guys w...

Re: Anyone fancy Karting?

I was thinking of a mini or full GP on the Friday afternoon or evening, as it's floodlit. There's a £20 deposit per person if we can get a group together.

Depends if folks want to do owt with the IKO this year and how long you want to stay sober for.

Re: Fuse Box Loom (rear)

Does anyone have the part number for the big white plug? From what I can see there's no part number for the connector, only the loom (at nearly £1000). There are repair sections for some connectors but nothing for the one you're after. :( You would most certainly be better off either repinning to a...

Re: Thoughts on this MK1?

Rust on the chassis rails is the real killer IMO, look round the front ARB mounts, all round the lower part of the front wheel wells and round the mounts for the rear trailing arms.

Re: Sills and radiator advice needed for newcomer

Custom made Mk1 sills are or at least used to be available through the Mk1 Mr2 Club. Have an ask on there perhaps? Was that from the same person as 'littlebird1303' on ebay. Forgotten about them. #-o http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TOYOTA-MR2-MK1-REAR-WHEEL-ARCH-REPAIR-PANELS-/231462602190?pt=UK_CarsPart...

Re: Sills and radiator advice needed for newcomer

Thank you very much LimeyMk1, I was losing hope anyone would say anything. As service history goes, I dont have much at all (brakes and lower steering joint in 2012), my next jobs will be cambelt, rear brakes disk, etc, the engine oil is looking fresh, ill do that probably in the summer at the late...
