Re: SOLD
This'll go quick! As an FYI to all the warriors out there that say you can buy an 5s engine for peanuts - I imported 4 engines on a crate from the states with a friend and got them for a decent rate, but even buying 4 still cost nearly a grand EACH, plus a massive ball-ache. Individually it would be...

What time did you get, Ryan? Glad to see it's making some smiles!
I tried looking up my MR2 the other day but the Reg has changed by the looks of it (or scrapped! ) and I haven't seen the owner on here after Dan sold it. Shame.

Before you do that, spend £70 on a proper calibratedtool to measure the wall thickness between 2-3. https://www.olympus-ims.com/en/applications/thickness-measurement-cast-engine-blocks-cylinder-bores/ there's companies that will rent one to you for a day - best get 2 or 3 blocks then keep the best o...

Re: JDM Import Rev 2 Turbo - Megasquirt install. Anti lag. 2 step.
Yeah if you're going 3S, then get hold of a square edged 98+ block from an NA. There's much more re-enforcement around the water pump area (crack point 1) which interestingly they also made the same improvement to the 5S block at the same time. Additionally, the material is of a different hardness. ...

Re: Shane's rev 5 turbo,mapped 569 BHP, For Sale
Interesting to see when a proper tuner puts proper ignition timing into a map unlike some other well known tuners out there that tell you you've got 600hp but leave it 10 deg short of where it could be......
Awesome result Shane.

Re: The Grey Phoenix..Summer update
There's something bothering me with this map, please dont think it a slap down but rather just asking to make sure nothing is untoward. A mapped ct20b running circa 1.2-1.3 bar is more powerful than your 5s build up to about 6000 where the new turbo beats it. Actually, the ct20b is ahead until over ...

More boost required!
Interesting torque curve, shoots up then flatlines. Looks like it's being held back.

Perfect example to do some further porting to improve airflow, or yours may be warped and needs swapping out.

Re: 5S Block
Best bet is to import one from the states yourself. About £1k all in for a single block including crank which can then be sold off for about £300 later. Just make sure it's the latter one with the square doobies. Speaking from personal experience, if someone offers you one here and ready for a grand...

Yes - and look at the price of the cars. Few years ago (not even 4) rev 3 turbos were £1800. Now they're £7k+.
