Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Tein EDFC motors - Removal

I had to do mine a while ago, from what i remember , peel back the rubber gator spray wd40 liberally and then just wrestle with them untill the threadlock is broken forward and back gently, sorry but i cant remember if we had to hold the damper tight to allow movement. What i do remember is that i h...

Re: Poxy leaking t-bar

i took the glass tbars out and threaded a piece of stiff pvc coated wire down the tube, pulled it up and pushed it down a few times, bit like cleaning a gun. Then i got a large jug and pored water down the hole untill my mate could see it running below. Water was black and bitty with lumps of gunge dr...

Re: Poxy leaking t-bar

I have new seals and mine still leaked,
i fitted new eccentric guides and mine still leaked,
all four drain holes and drain tubes were blocked,
i cleaned them out and its a helluva lot better.

Re: GT4 alternator setup :0)

I suspect to draw air away from the alternator rather than to feed it I never looked at it that way round, but would argue ,hot air rises, and the pipe faces down, wouldnt it be difficult to force hot air in that direction?. I noticed today there is also a heat shield fitted to the side of the altern...

Re: GT4 alternator setup :0)

Thats good to know as a guy at work is doing this with a gt4 engine we have in the ware house.
Im genuinely puzzled though ,as to why they fitted a black moulded air tube
to the alternators on the gt4,what was the reason for that?

Re: GT4 alternator setup :0)

slung beneath on an mr2 they get a bit of airflow to cool them,
on the gt4 they have an air tube which directs cool air onto the windings,
not sure i would want to add to the heat in an allready hot envioroment.
What about a curved shield to stop water ingress?

Re: Torero's TRD Widebody Build Thread - Project Vendetta.

I do like the idea of the extended boot, saves a whole lot of hassle,
i also like the apeture for the electric aerial, and the correct fuel flap with
built in sides..........in duraflex as well,
looks like a well thought out kit.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Best way to monitor a chargecooler??

I bought one of these for my bootmounted ic its wired so that it brings the fans on when temp reaches a set point, the controller is also bootmounted. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271173685528?ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1436.l2649 No good for fluid level though, but as someone has a...
