Re: [Mk2] [NA] Oil light / pressure sensor?

My guess is that because the oil level sender runs through its own ECU, there is software code in there which has a time delay (to allow the oil to settle during initial running) - our car shows the light on ignition/key first click, you start the car and the light goes out, then after maybe a minut...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Oil light / pressure sensor?

I have the same problem on our car - for us, the oil level sensor (a float type thing, found on the sump pan on the drivers side) is knacked. I checked, and it's a ball ache of a job to fix, AND expensive ... there is even an ECU just for the oil level sensor! Have a look underneath, and see what yo...

Rev1 N/A Oil Change - Flush, new oil and oil treatment?

Hi People,
Just about to make an oil change - do people recommend a flush through before the new stuff? If so, any particular flushing agent?
Also, is a 'Slick 50' type additive a good idea? Again, what do you people recommend?
Cheers,
Grahame

Re: Our car, and a dilema .... thoughts please?

Thanks for everyones inputs so far, and the nice comments about the car. Yes, I was thinking that anything at Rev 2 or above would be the way to go - I hadn't thought that I might be able to afford a Rev 3 though ... that's interesting for sure!

Thanks again,
Grahame

Real nice car Trevor!!
I haven't forgotten about the ARBs - will call you later today or tomorrow, have been travelling (and also waiting for the snow to clear ....).
Good luck with the sale, and a free bump up.

Our car, and a dilema .... thoughts please?

Rev1 NA - Distributor Cap - what are these for?

Hello all - another "what are these for?" question. http://i764.photobucket.com/albums/xx290/GDWMR2/rev1n_adistributorcapwhatarethesefo.jpg They don't have anything connected to them - would have thought they were for vacuum or something? Draining, cooling? Anyone know? Thanks in advance a...

Rev1 N/A - should these be connected?

Evening everyone - should the two highlighted ports be connected by a pipe? If not, what would they be for?
Thanks in advance

[Mk2] [NA] Leicestershire - Rev1 Clutch and fitting needed

Hi folks,
Can anyone recommend somehwere in Leicestershire (Hinckley area) who would be good for doing a clutch replacement for me? Also, any idea on how much this would cost?
I'd like to do it myself, but would need help .... so, a garage is probably the best bet.
Cheers,
Grahame

Re: [Mk2] [NA] New tyres fitted, Front ARB bush question

Thanks for everyones inputs. I take on board the comments on having the same tyre type (manufacturer/pattern) on all corners, and the best approach being a true staggered set-up - I'll keep looking for a pair of 8" rims for the back, but I'm comfortable having the Toyos upfront and Falkens at t...

[Mk2] [NA] New tyres fitted, Front ARB bush question

Had an interesting experience over the weekend. Firstly, I have been looking to do a swapover of wheels/tyres which I bought last year - I got a set of 17" Wolfrace wheels off of EBay, changed two of the tyres for new 215/40 Toyo T1s from Camskill, fitted them on the back, and stayed with the F...

Re: New to Track Days - some questions

Thanks for the quick reply on this - I'm in Hinckley, Leics by the way. Are there any particular tyre types you would recommend? Also, would the standard, Toyota OEM tyre profiles ok, or should I look to change these to something else (lower profile, wider width)? I was thinking of not getting new t...
