Re: Regular North West meet. Mascrat Manor, warrington.

most turn up at 7 , hang about a few hours . not the best time of year but once it gets a bit lighter of an evening the numbers get larger and folk stay for longer. Well, I'm only about 25 miles away, so I'll try to get the car up there, it needs some miles putting on it. I work not far from where ...

I might try to get down for a meeting. Reg'd on JNW - what's the usual kick off time and how long do people stay for?

Re: Johnny G's 3.4 litre V6 Turbo

Cheers Ash,

Just one more thing to add - we're now overhauling the fuel setup. It was just put in place to get it functional and working.

But, Nathan from Century is designing the system for me, from the walbro's outwards.

Hope to have that off him soon and then in place not too long afterwards.

Re: Johnny G's 3.4 litre V6 Turbo

Now THATS how you get big power! We see all too often people slapping a huge turbo on to the 3SGTE lump which just isnt designed to supply such large turbo's. End result is laaaaag BOOM. Not my idea of how power should be delivered as the result is usually a horrible driving experience and probably...

Re: Johnny G's 3.4 litre V6 Turbo

Thanks guys - just working out a very minor gremlin at the moment ... TIME!

I'm so busy working away, I've had no time to drive it - let alone have the map finished on the dyno.

Thanks for the comments, though, but it's Woodsport and my Bank Manager who deserve the praise :)

Re: Johnny G's 3.4 litre V6 Turbo

I saw this in the flesh when i was at woodsport during summer. MY GOD it's a beast! when johnny says the turbo's huge he means HUGE it looked bigger than my head! Amazing built mate! you got any bhp figures yet? It'll be a monster at high boost. It'll support larger turbos - anything that comes wit...

Mmmmmm what's the quickest 1/4 run on a stock turbo???

Was it a 12.7??

Depends on the driver. A driver can be worth up to a couple of seconds on the 1/4 mile

Re: Johnny G's 3.4 litre V6 Turbo

i can understand that ! perfection takes time :thumleft: what will the engine rev up to safely under boost ? or is this still estimates ? Well, the stock engine was only made for 5500rpm, being a truck engine - but I had the head massively worked on. Porting, cams, valves, shimless bucket conversio...

Re: Highest powered standard turbo???

On a separate note: these figures are all meaningless comparisons unless it was all done on the same dyno. If I wanted, I could get a Mk1 to read 500bhp - it's all in the calibration, temperature, air density, gear and other operating parameters. How? If that's the case and you can manipulate the r...
