does the gear box need to come out to replace bearing? also if i prattle a little list is this right rear wheel off anti roll bars and all gumff disconnected/dropped drive shafts out does that give me access to the box to replace it or am i being very shy of the mark? want to get a mk1 but gearbox b...

is there anyway to modify a sheild for this to prevent heat soak as thats pretty confined in the engine bay and will suffer from the heat, on other cars i've made stainless sheilds to confine the filter within the bay from as much heat as possible etc.

just phone around your local scrappy, and ask them to collect it and weigh it in, you'l maybe see 75-110 i guess, take anything you need off it fiirst and if you want the wheels as spares, arrange to collect them from the yard once cars been taken.
