How are these getting on? Are we still looking good for end of March or there abouts?

Yeah - chasing oil leaks around the engine bay can be a full time job!

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] dizzy clamp not tightening up...
By all means make sure it's torqued up properly but I wouldn't hold your breath on that front if I were you. As long as the diameter is smooth (lines up properly) and you can't get a feeler gauge in the splitline then it should be ok. I'm not sure if it's possible to fit the cap the wrong way round ...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] dizzy clamp not tightening up...
Just give all the surfaces a visual check. If there is decent oring compression then it should seal fine and any leaks will most likely be from elsewhere. I've only heard of this once but a friend of mine had a damaged dizzy that was causing a leak. The groove which the oring sits in has broken thro...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] dizzy clamp not tightening up...
I might have misunderstood you but I think your concern is that you've refitted the "cam cap" that bolts down onto the dizzy and found that the distributor still rotates. If that's the case then don't worry as that is how it should be. That cap only provides a sealing surface for the dizzy...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Are the rev1 and rev2 head gaskets the same?
Maverick. Sorry I never got the chance to check the gasket before I left so will have to do that when I get back now. It was a complete head gasket kit from Toyota though so it seems logical that it's only a paper gasket. For some reason I seem to remember seeing a more substantial HG in there thoug...

How many deposits have you got for this now?
I'm quite interested too but want to do a bit of reading about what's involved with changing them over...

Re: MR2 SW20 RHD Power Steering Quick Steer Pinion.
What's involved in removing that part. Is it fairly easy to get to or is there a lot of other parts that need removing too?

Ah OK.
It's probably ok but just check that it sits at 0V with the ignition off and goes to 12V with the ignition on.

Re: LINKPlus G3 Ecu Experts, help needed for fan control please :)
I don't think there is a distinction between analogue and digital outputs (although there is for inputs). The LEM doesn't anyway. You should be able to use any "Auxiliary Output" for this. I've set mine up as follows: http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb304/jwingers/mr2%20parts/Aux_Output...

Re: LINKPlus G3 Ecu Experts, help needed for fan control please :)
I have a G3 LEM and have that set up as you've described. It should be the same for the LinkPlus. You can set one of the outputs to be a "GP Output" and then specify certain conditions to be met for it to activate. EngineCoolantTemp > 60 degC and RPM > 500 rpm would make sense to me but yo...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Anyone fitted an oil cooler?
Looks like you're pretty much there with this now but I'll reply anyway... I just about got a sandwich plate to fit my rev1 but it was pretty tight. I used 90 degree fittings that routed the oil lines fairly close to the exhaust manifold. I've since dropped this method and am now looking at a reloca...

[All] [Generic] Toyota component materal specs?
Does anyone know what the 1zz buckets are made of? Really I'm looking for the technical material spec as it would be on the drawing etc. I'm looking to get some heat treatment done to them so need to know what their material composition is really. A bit of an odd request I know, but there seem to be...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Alternator failed because of oil leak, how best to resolve, ideas please!
That's weird, a friend of mine came over yesteday to help rebuild my engine and the exact same thing happened to him. Oh wait a minute... I think it looked more like sump gasket that top-end leak but as you say it's hard to tell. The alternator looked oily but a lot of that could be from a previous ...

Had mine 3 years with no interest from the cops.
It's full size and fully reflective etc though so that helps.
