Re: GT4 st205 Catalytic Converter suitable for rev3 MR2 turbo?
Cheers :thumleft: According to the MOT tester my car is listed as being first used in Dec 1995 (not quite sure how accurate th eDVLA's records are on this though) so I think I'm out of luck with trying to get it through via the older standards. I'm getting the car serviced in the next week or so but...

GT4 st205 Catalytic Converter suitable for rev3 MR2 turbo?
My car ( a 1995 turbo) failed its MOT on emissions this morning due to not having a catalytic converter and therefore having CO2 readings of 0.60 at idle. I'm therefore in dire need of a cat and wanted to double check that the cat from a GT4 st205 definitely fits a rev3 mr2. Is anyone able to confir...

+1 on the bushes.
Made a world of difference when I had mine fitted and gave me so much more confidence with the car's road holding capabilities.

Re: Help please! Steering issues and hot wheels (in a bad way)
Thought I'd provide some closure on this. It was the rear calipers sticking after all so I had them rebuilt and the cars been as smooth as silk ever since.

Re: Droplinks for Tein Super Street coilovers
I haven't had a go at fitting them yet (laziness on my part) but will try them this weekend assuming I can get the old ones off!
Will keep you posted.

Re: Best alloys for track use???
What effects do the offsets of the wheels have on the handling characteristics of the car and is there an ideal offset for handling for a mk2 mr2? I'm currently have a set of 16x7 (et 32) and 16x8 (et 38 ) wheels which I'm intending to use on the track use am debating whether to get some 3mm spacers...

Re: Droplinks for Tein Super Street coilovers
I've done some further research and according the info about the thread/shaft diameter kindly supplied by djpkins and the info from the following website... http://www.armspluss.co.uk/SABILIZER-LINKS/mazda ... I'm convinced the 190mm front drop links from the Mazda 323/Premacy should fit onto the fr...

Droplinks for Tein Super Street coilovers
Having trawled the forum and the internet I'm still struggling to find a decent and affordable set of replacement droplinks for my Tein super street coilovers. The main problems being the length (190mm) and that they have the bolts facing in different directions. I've read that the ones from the Ave...

Re: metallic ringing sound at partial throttle
I'd say it's a metallic sound but not sure I'd describe it as a ticking sound - more of a ringing resonating sound. No harm in checking the exhaust manifold studs so will have a look at those when I get the bolts on the heat shield replaced.

Re: metallic ringing sound at partial throttle
Had a slightly more thorough check this morning and noticed that I'm missing a couple of bolts and a bracket on my heat shield, so it may be that the heat shield is causing the sound after all. Does anybody therefore know what: a) the bolt circled in red connects to? It looks as if someone has cut t...

Re: metallic ringing sound at partial throttle
Had a quick check this afternoon and I'm sure its not the hard pipe bracket as it feels solid with no sign of looseness whatsoever. I also checked the heat shield and that seemed pretty secure too. When trying to move it the only thing that happened was some flex in the heatshield (the end facing th...

Re: metallic ringing sound at partial throttle
I would say it's definitely it's a high pitched ringing or whistling sound which is noticeable at lower rpms when driving gently.
If i get a chance this evening, i'll see if I can capture the sound on video.

Thanks mate, will check all of those.
One question though... Where's the spinning drive shaft seal dust cover located and do you know what it looks like?

metallic ringing sound at partial throttle
I've noticed a metallic ringing sound coming from the engine when driving at partial throttle just as the turbo is gently spooling up. It is particularly prominent when gentling accelerating in either 2nd or 3rd gear. Is this normal or can any one shed any light on what this may be and whether I sho...

Re: Help please! Steering issues and hot wheels (in a bad way)
Not yet, as I didn't get very far with inspecting the car this weekend. Got as far as jacking up the rear of the car and then finding that the rear wheels barely budged even with the handbrake released. Then realised I didn't have the correct socket to remove the bolts that hold the caliper in place...

Re: Help please! Steering issues and hot wheels (in a bad way)
In my experience most of these tyre centres can't balance a wheel to save their lives. You'd think it would be a simple task as the machine does everything for them and all they have to do is stick the weight on where it tells them to but 9 times out of 10 you see them move the wheel from where the...

Re: Help please! Steering issues and hot wheels (in a bad way)
Well I had my wheel alignment done at Regal Autosport in Southampton, who I must say treated me and my car with a lot more care than Kwik Fit did (they also had some sweet cars there including a tasty s2000 and raft of modded 911s). Whilst it was there, the guys made some minor tweaks to my alignmen...

Re: Help please! Steering issues and hot wheels (in a bad way)
I've now had all four wheels balanced by Kwik Fit but before I go on to the results I'd like to vent my anger a little at Kwik Fit! Despite me warning the guy that my car was extremely low and that my sideskirts were lower at the rear end of the car (they're tom's sideskirts in case you're wondering...
