Re: Help: Castle nuts vs nylon lockers

IMO nylocs are fine. I've used them where the split pin has rusted and blocked the hole on the ball joint. The ball joints I've just brought did come with castellated nuts though

Re: side skirt removal

Not much to it. Two bolts to each wing then 4 or so bolts from underneath the skirt to the sill. rear triangle is separate and slides under the front section

Mr Pete use to advise burning them out with a plumbers torch. Worked a treat for me on my last car. This time I had access to a 10 ton press so did it in a more controlled manner.

Re: JP Exhausts

That manifold doesn't look amazingly clever, am guessing the headers are so short because they meet up with the stock downpipe? I asked Paul to make sure it didn't break as Mark had some issues with a stainless manifold. Space is restricted because the exhaust manifold sits against the boot fire wa...

Re: JP Exhausts

Guess you don't mean mapping then to JP? I had to have a run in map put on mine, then take it to JP for exhaust whilst I was running in, then back for a full map, meant a lot of travelling (which actually helped run in) but had to get it in the right order! Not mapping just dyno to see if a new man...

Re: JP Exhausts

Spent a long time talking to John at JP exhaust very helpful bloke. Once the 2zz is back on the road in the spring I'll be dynoing it then up to JP for a full system including manifold.

Has anybody got a spare bolt for the seat belt shoulder attachment?

Can't face a phone call to my local Toyota dealership, They'll just tell me my car doesn't exist again!

Front ball joint question

So half way though doing my polybushes. I've took the front control arms off and I'm a bit confused by my ball joints. The driver's side has a shim between the ball joint and the bottom to the strut. The passenger side does not. My other car doesn't have shims. Should I have shims, I'm not keen on h...
