Re: Superb fuel economy

Got to be EURO related

Depends how the tires are wearing and what tires they are.

Tyres are kind of just wearing really quickly and looking like they're melting a bit. :-k

Re: Superb fuel economy

I did 130miles on a tank last fill up. Not very efficent :-k

Then again looking at my rear tyres they're showing signs of rapid deterioration recently, I think this may give us a clue in diagnosing my poor fuel economy. Anybody care to take a guess.......

The early ones had a different number of studs on the strut. If they look the same, my understanding is they'll fit.

Re: Springs - Eiback to stock

Just need to say thanks to Perculis who gave me a demo of his car. His standard springs and shocks were pretty impressive especially given they're age so I'm seriously thinking about changing springs now. Oh and the 2zz engine also gets a big thumbs up as does your driving mate, falling back in lov...

Probably best not to listen to me. I 'ruined' a really good example with a 2zz engine 6 speed box and LSD. Still looks original thank god.

Re: DIDSM's Mint Mk1b - Ultimate Dilemma?

IMHO Cars are for driving, keep it wrapped up in winter in the garage and drive as much as possible once the salts gone. Also make sure it's driven fast, these are sports cars and they have feelings too. They like to be out with the wind in their hair and their TVIS open. Great that people want to l...

Just remember that mm setting will change with wheel diameter so if you're not on 14 inch wheels the mm setting swill be out. The alignment place I use requires measurements in degrees

Re: Springs - Eiback to stock

For the road I think stock is the way to go. Returned my last car to stock from PIs and found it had much less understeer and generally a nicer ride. Seems many people are pleased with Koni's though. I've 184BHP and stock springs & dampers, stiffer rear ARB, polybushes and a slight front geometr...

Re: Gearbox oil leak

Find a 2nd hand box. Disconnect the passenger side hub from the gearbox support the gear box and engine. undo all but the drivers side engine mount. (i.e passenger side, Front and rear) Jack the car up. the gearbox can now be taken off the engine as it's hanging down at a nice angle. I didn't touch ...
