Hi Karl, is that a standard mr2 radiator or has it been modified in any way? I may need a new one soon for my v6.

Re: **UPDATED** 1991 Rev 1 (Beastly V6 1MZ-FE VVTI) **UPDATED**
I got mine from Toyota and had them fit them. I had no choice as I was going to Lemans the day after so was in a real hurry. Was expensive coming in at just over £800. But its a worth while job to do, replace these and the other smaller coolant pipes and your future proofing your car from overheatin...

Be really careful when undoing the drain plugs on the pipes under the car. Again these are only undone when bieng really thorough but worth inspecting them for corrosion. Anyway one snapped on mine when I attempted to loosen it. Give em a spay of WD first.

Click this http://www.mr2oc.com/downloads/bgb/MR2_SW_1993_REPAIRMANUAL.zip Click the engine folder then the cooling one. It gives a great outline of the steps involved. Click the second coolant pdf and that tells you how to replace the coolant. Hope this helps. Keep us posted how you get on its a bi...

Re: Anyone fancy helping me fit new rad & coolant - Bristol :-)
Theres a few options regarding coolant. I paid out a bit more for Toyota Forlife from your local Toyota. Its Decent quality stuff, had mine in for a few years and its still nice and red (touch wood that hasnt jinxed it) While youre at it when you remove your old radiator its worthwhile replacing the...

Re: Anyone fancy helping me fit new rad & coolant - Bristol :-)
I've done mine twice and I've never jacket the back up. The car needs to be level to stop air bubbles. You also need to connect the clear hoses to the heater bleed valve and one onto the top valve on the radiator. Attach the hoses to the frunk lid and then fill up with coolant. When the levels in th...

Looking good Karl. What upgrades have you done/are doing with the cooling system. I see you've upgraded the rad, have you replaced the coolant pipes under the car? I replaced them on mine, pain of a job but it was a job well worth doing as the last thing you want is a cooling problem after all the h...

Yeah it will fit fine, rev 1 to 4 are all the same regarding exhaust. I have a decent one for sale as well in the parts for sale section if you want to take a look, bargain at £80.

Re: 3SGE running like crap, massive let down for first drive
The overheating issue is probably air trapped in the system. Theres a specific way of changing the coolant on these cars, its a pain but needs to be done that way.

I was going to get this but heard that the beggining part is really slow and boring? Apparently you have to carry out lots of small tasks before getting into anything good. Is that true?

Im really not sure Ill have to have a check but the locking one which is no longer on the car is tapered so Im thinking that the remaining ones may in fact be aftermarket.

I have no idea, id have to check. The wheels were new and didnt come with any wheel nuts so Im assuming theyre ok. Theyve been on the car for since 2008 and been fine...touch wood! Had locking wheelnuts fitted and lost the key so I had the garage drill them out. Now im in need of 4 standard ones.
