Ive had my mr2 for 7ish years and its the only car to have remained on my driveway. Quite simply Ive not had a car that handles like i...

Typo my bad, was talking about me doing it, basically if a cheap lsd can be sourced then I may as well source a longer 5th gear at the same time and fit them both, rather than one and not the other.

So how easy is it to fit the LSD then? I guess if your going to do that then your best off switching out the stock 5th for the longer gear? Im still pondering doing it, my cars too loud on the motorway.

Re: v6 or turbo
On the fuel economy point, if you want to get good mileage then just drive round town in 5th gear. It will pull comfortably at 20mph in 5th. But having said that no one gets a V6 conversion for fuel economy. Its for the power and the noise.

Yeah that's a great price, when I looked for one for my 540 bmw they were coming in at £600-£700, to rich for me! Something to think about for my 2 though.

Check the king lead that goes from the centre of the dizzy cap to the coil. This is a very common problem.

Re: **UPDATED** 1991 Rev 1 (Beastly V6 1MZ-FE VVTI) **UPDATED**
Hey Karl I was going to do the same LSD and gear modification on my V6. Got a decent second hand gearbox but couldnt source the parts in time, so in the end just fitted the gearbox. It will be much quieter at motorway speeds with that. Out of interest what did you pay for the LSD if you dont mind me...

Re: [All] [Generic] Am I being stupid
Thanks i figured it out but when the top came off it left the nib stuck. The brush is much better. I had 3 fairly deep scratches that are now invisible. A cheap fix for £1.99!!

When you wax oiled your car did you wire brush the surface first or just spray it on? Thinking of doing the same with mine but not sure how to go about it.

Great job :thumleft: With regards to your number plate and the legallity of it, I have had mine stuck on the front bumper for the last 4 years and never had a problem or question raised about it. It has also passed every mot with it. I think the sticker option looks better imo. Ive probably just jin...

Re: Failed MOT
I assume by suspension component they mean the bit where the lower arm attaches where it comes forward from the hub? I'm not sure, I've had a quick check and it looks like they have tested it with a hammer as I can see 2 inches or so of corrosion (hole) at the very end of either side sills right by...

Re: Failed MOT
Yeah Ill take a look when Im home from work. It has a bodykit on it so its difficult to see. I was hesitant about fitting the kit a few years back precisely for this reason, its very hard to keep an eye on any corrosion. Hoping its minimal, ill post up pics of what I find. Had an advisory also for a...
