Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] anybody no wot power to expect?

It is annoying yes, and I for one generally don't reply to posts written so badly, if you can't be bothered to even write correctly so I can read it without having to ask my 15 year old neice to translate it why should I be bothered to help you.

I know I am not alone too!

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Can I use NA gearbox with a Turbo engine?

If the gearing is longer (what are the ratios - anybody?) then it will accelerate slower compared to a lower ratio box.

I can't see why Toyota would put a longer ratio gearbox in a lower powered car though, its usually the other way round?

Re: T-Bar Flex... ??

Its not the glass thats the heavy bit its all the extra steel, a carbon sunroof panel won't save much. Whichever way you look at it a T-bar is heavier and wobblier, whether you think that extra bit of weight saving and rigidity is worth it depends on what you want to do with your car, if its a track...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] If i stretch the p00 pants out of my arches........

I have these size wheel on mine, rears fit easy, fronts a pain, I run plenty camber which helps but they struggle to clear the struts, have to use a wedge of spacersand longer studs. Looks the mutts though when done. Oh, and I also needed 225/35 front tyres or they hit the inner arch on full lock. h...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Recorded 0-60 time in lightweight SW20

AREN'T and OFF not OFF (rushed during lunchtime!) There are 2, the F-Con V and the F-Con V pro, they said not to bother with the pro and the V is extremely good and even they recognise if there were more people around to map it it would be much more succesful and a genuine alternative to Motec etc, ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Recorded 0-60 time in lightweight SW20

Well I have seen Jon drive so I know his times are lacking in terms off driver ability, and his timing methods are good so I don't believe he couldve gone much quicker unless like he say he warmed his tyres a bit. Has anyone timed a standard car? As for timing using the speedo and a stop watch you m...

we use those on our bikes as a cheap alternative to our full on VBOX systems, the data is virtually identical too, there excellent things and very accurate.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] As light as an mr2 will go without carbon? 1148kgs

The rear firewall has 3 steel layers with sound deadening between them, so its pretty well dead, the floor is just a thin sheet of steel that pants and makes a right racket.

By the time youve drilled holes in the bulkhead for harnesses though......

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Recorded 0-60 time in lightweight SW20

cool, well considering your cars 'only' got 50bhp or so over standard and it will go all day with that much power then those times are pretty impressive, especially as there real times and not measured by your mate in the passenger seat with a stop watch........

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Recorded 0-60 time in lightweight SW20

I like it Jon, especially as mines virtually identical! Did you hit 60 in second? I reckon my 0-60 would be around 4 secs if you couldnt hit 60 in second, as I can because of my bigger wheels, although my 0-100 would probably be a tad slower. What do you think? Either way it goes to show how quick t...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] so cheap are they chocolate pistons ??

This is what I was saying, if there cast you might as well keep the old ones. For what its worth my car has standard internals and has been running 1.2 bar boost for ages with no problems, I dont do many miles in it bu the ones I do do are quite hard. As long as its fuelled and cooled correctly the ...

You do realise these are not forged pistons but just cast items, so are just a replacement rather than an improved part?

Re: [Mk2] [NA] harnesses

You dont need special harnesses, catreham ones or anything else, you can just adjust normal ones to fit, all it means is you have a length of harness behind the seat. You dont need to weld spreader plates in either, the weld doesnt do anything in a crash. You can buy FIA approved ones for not much m...

Re: A 'how much is it worth thread' - Rev 3 Turbo Track car

Not definitely selling up, but if I sell the Saab and the MR2 and buy something interesting that I can actually use and still get some enjoyment out of then great, maybe a supra? Another option would be a mk3 MR2, I could use that everyday to go to work, Nikki would also use that so I would get my J...
