Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] DISASTER - wheel experts?
Went over again yesterday morning. They did a re-enactment from scratch and they showed me that they had trouble seating the tire on the rim (yes the face was down), the fitter showed me how it was getting stuck half way down the rim and binding due to the design of the rim. When the tire is inflate...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] DISASTER - wheel experts?
They told me that they fitted the tire from the back and yes it is a chrome trim where the split has occurred. The lip on my undamaged rims is a right angle. The two damaged ones are dished out now. Somehow the action of either: a: putting the tire on the wheel, or b: inflating the tire to set the b...

[Mk2] [Turbo] DISASTER - wheel experts?
Does anyone know what causes this? I have my own ideas, however I would really like to hear from anyone that works in a tire/wheel shop. Two of my treasured Blitz 03's that I have been refurbing for 9 months just popped open like a crushed can at the tire shop when they were trying to fit new Falken...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Most READILY available quietest exhaust for a MK2 Turbo
You can get the Fujitsubo legalis R, look great, bass noise without the rasp and will flow 500hp or thereabouts.
There's two downsides: cost (mine was about 600eur + shipping) and secondly they develop a nasty heat line on the otherwise amazing looking muffler (especially after a heavy dyno session).

Re: Finally fitted my suspension (With pictures)
That would be cool thanks!
I have 17x8 + 35, and 17x9 +38 so I'm possibly right on the limit.

Would you mind disclosing your rim width/offset?

Sounds cool. Would love to see pics.
I've seen a kit for sale, but afaik they're reasonably rare.

Re: newbie alert
This is the only way I can think of: Step 1: take out a spark plug Step 2: put in a length of dowel lightly in to the hole so that it sits on top of the piston Step 3: wind the engine over by hand until the dowel goes as low as it can before it starts to come up again. Step 4: put a mark on the stic...

Have you seen this white MK2?
Some pratt helped themselves to a car belonging to my friend Kealan in Dublin: http://img524.imageshack.us/img524/9894/mymr2.jpg OK it's only a slim chance that it's landed up in whole or parts in the UK but thought it worth posting up in case someone here sees it. If you notice a Rev3 tbar with whi...
