Re: Big power MK1
Pete, Have already made some preliminary modifications to improve the performance of my existing intercooler, in advance of fittting a larger crankshaft pulley. I am thinking of fitting an intercooler spray system and possibly a chargecooler. Have fitted thermouples to outlet of supercharger outlet ...

Re: Big power MK1
Pete, really impressed with your enthusaism! I also have a SC and also refuse to go the turbo route. Love the power delivery of the SC engine, even if it means it runs out of steam at the top end. My car is fairly standard but I would like some more power. However I refuse to make any external modif...

Re: Mk1 N/A servicing
When I first got mine it had no service history. Having just snapped a cambelt in my everyday car, and working 13hrs a day, 7 days a week, I had to take it to Inchcape in Derby. I told them to service everything and fix anything that was wrong. Well they did that, but the bill came to £980!!! On a s...

But you're missing the point , Paul.
An MR3 turbo will easily top the 1/4 mile standings, that's what's important! NOT!

Re: MK1 v MK2
Paul, just read the write up on your V6 conversion. Truly impressive engineering! http://www.mr2mk1club.com/V6MR2.html Only disappointment is the write up ends 27th September, just after you had fired up the engine. What has happened since then? How does it perform, does it handle well? Paul, couldn...

Re: Mk1 Supercharger Insurance - best insurance company?
Correct Wayne, My first interest with small affordable two seater sportscars was with the X1/9. The MR2 Mk1 Supercharger is (in my opinion) just a better engineered version of the X1/9. The X1/9 had a feeble engine and feeble brakes. I still have a 1500cc Gran Finale X1/9 (but also have a spare 1800...

Re: MK1: Recommended garage in Sheffield
Didn't trust my cars to any garage, apart from when I was working seven days a week and had no time to do my own repairs/maintenance. One little garage I can recommend is Champion and Emmett. It is in Hunters Bar, near the Lescar pub (if you know the area). They are not specialists or tuning experts...

Mk1 Supercharger Insurance - best insurance company?
First insured my Mk1 Supercharger with Houghton Insurance on 19th November 2003. I was 34, 10 years or more no claims, no points on my licence. Terms were: 5000 limited mileage Private driveway or garage Two named but low risk drivers. Car was second car, not primary use. I was delighted at the prem...

Re: Air con and supercharger, is it std equipment ???
Manta7, I have an SC. If you want AC I would gladly remove mine and sell all the components for a reasonable sum.... Regarding LSD. The gearbox code on my chassis suggests that I don't have LSD. However when I jack up the rear of the car and turn one rear wheel, the other one turns in the same direc...

Re: MK1: Recommended garage in Sheffield
Nope, mine has 6-spoke silver alloy wheels. They are 16" and I am looking to change them back to 15". Hasn't been on the road for about 6 months. I live in Ripley.
Andy, I can fit your kyb kit but don't have a flat bed to set it up. Would need to get a 3rd party to adjust the setttings, Tom
