Seperatly monitor the voltages on the 3 wires coming off the alternator and see if this also fluctuates during the needle bounce and rev. drop. Thanks for reply Steve, but the problem is concurrent. I.E the hesitancy happens at exactly the same time as the rev counter starts going haywire so the two problems are related

Got a problem..... Car idles absolutely fine. Car will run on boost fine. Car sporadically, when on a low throttle will hesitate as if the ignition system periodically shuts down. There are no error codes. The only other symptom when this happens is the rev counter needle bounces around erratically....
