[Mk2] [Turbo] To anyone who has cracked a block at the water pump
Did it look like this? Cant be bothered stripping the engine out tonight so will have to wait for the weekend. Ive started to pull a few bits off. Looks ALMOST as if the gasket round the water pump has gone though? The water is NOT getting pressurised when hot, just leaking out round here. http://ww...

You've totally changed the VE of the engine, the mapping will be totally different.
Get it mapped.
I had one of those adapters too, I now have a proper manifold and wastegate (60mm). Just couldn't get it reliable with the adapter.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] GT35R dyno dillema updated with 4th gear Datalogit 8 May
Check the base ignition timing as a starter for 10 (did you have the dizzy off?), then look at your cam timing- make sure you've referenced TDC correctly... Hi I did as above and tried to set to 10 degrees with TE1 and E1 of the check connector linked with a wire, however the timing was still danci...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] GT35R dyno dillema updated with 4th gear Datalogit 8 May
has it actually been mapped ? Of course ignition timing makes a massive difference, but the lumpy idle could be your timing, or you could have a mad amount of blowby or melted pistons of course. Did you degree the cams properly, ie NOT using the timing mark on the engine but finding real TDC with a ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Oil level; am I being paranoid
Well, it seems that the oil is going somewhere. No smoking or visible leaking from the engine, as a matter of fact, it's very clean underneath. No smoking on boost as far as I can see. Exhaust doesn't smell of oil.. But the oil level was just over low this morning. When firing up the car first thin...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] valve spring compressor tool?
another vote for a socket and hammer here too.
I also bung a little double sided tape up the inside of the socket to catch the collets.
To compress, any old valve spring compressor works. The one I have has a bar you bolt to the head - I use the cam cover bolt holes

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Block - cylinder liners
I got the sleeves from engine logics and had them installed for £400.
Got them bored to 86mm.
Some people like them, some don't - but I'll tell you this - I recently had all 4 pistons melt after a hard run, and the bores are all still perfect. Not even a scratch!

Just fitted some 245/40-17 falkens to the back of my -30mm mr2 and I'm getting a little arch rub so I need names of places locally that can do this or where I can hire an arch roller. Just got a local quote and they wanted £140 for two arch's  Cheers Paul You could buy an arch roller for tha...
