Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Wideband Gauge
It's just a normal OEM wideband sensor, on loads of VW's etc - stock location on a lot of cars is just after the turbo. However they aren't designed to be driven hard I suppose.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Wideband Gauge
Techedge would be my choice of controller after trying a few - depends what you want it for though

I have my sensor 4 inches from the turbo - has been fine for 2 years.

TBH, a few high gear foot flat to the floor runs to give a high load will do a lot

Re: Engine / box rebuild recommendation.
rev 3 HG is as good as any
when do you get the knocking? If small end it will be worse when under no load and when revving 'down'
ie - at idle, rev the car up and as it starts to rev down you will hear the knocking most pronounced.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] 3sgte Inlet Manifold Advice Needed!!
Surely just a EGT sensor cannot be enough tho? There must be too many variables that could effect the reading. For instance, if you have an un-equal length exhaust manifold, then the the gas pressure will be different in each runner, this will effect heat dispersion time making some EGT sensors rea...

or individual cylinder fuel trim. Problem with this technique tho is it can only be done 3 ways... 1 would be to flow test the inlet to work out the flow/velocity differences between the runners then plug this into a formula to work out the fuelling ratio difference between all the cylinders. This ...

There should be a thick live and a thinner wire bolted to one end, and the push on connector on to the solenoid.

I made my own from a cheap ebay one. It still hasn't cracked. The pics below are of the 'placeholder' cheap wastegate I was using until I got the current turbosmart. It should be noted that the cheap wastegate NEVER let me down. It started like this (After I welded on a new flange) http://www.mark-c...

I've tried a lot, from michelin to toyo to hankook to pirelli and good year, and they have all been crap in comparison to Kumho Ecsta V70A

Re: Where to get methanol from?
your local Brentag or whatever the equivalent is there. http://www.brenntag.com/en/index.html I get reagent grade at £102 per 200 litre (40 gallon) drum. Technical grade is cheaper but no good for putting in petrol as it has impurities including water. I mix it into the petrol, and also inject it wi...

You'll also be surprised at how far out the stock timing marks on the covers are. Mine were 5 degrees out when I checked them properly with a piston stop and a degree wheel.
