Re: [All] [Generic] Crashed into

The crash impact foam will be ruined, it takes all the impact and sacrifices itself. The next crash will not be that nice. Get it changed and charge her for it at main dealer rates, don't over or undercharge her or do whiplash claims [-X That's fair and square, also report here for hit and run, tomo...

Re: RX8 anyone driven one?

I have driven the prodrive tuned one,
with traction control/electronic aids off its fab terrific handling, both on the skidpan and on the circuit.

It revs so cleanly that it can feel a bit wheezy, but mind you it is fast and nimble, very pointy, but watch out it can catch you with your pants down lol

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Scared of Mk2s -how to make them safer

Thats all well and good but if you make a car TOO strong where is the force of impact transfered to? The OCCUPANTS which is NOT a good idea, cars can be replaced, humans cant. Cars are designed to crumple in a way to protect its occupants in the event of an accident. Ok the MR2 is getting on in yea...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Scared of Mk2s -how to make them safer

I find posts like this hilarious  The original poster wanted to know how to make the car safer, and to answer his question; 1. Full 6 point roll cage with side impact protection and fully insulated with FIA standard padding 2. Strengthened floorpan and foot wells to prevent intrusion 3. Polycar...

Simon is probably the most sensible man on IMOC

Excellent and I got flamed last time I tried to explain this with the stupid torque argument

Any chance of uploading the diagram please and making it a sticky for future reference please (mods) :thumleft:

As he said ^^

I think it senses when to turn on or off the fan that feeds the engine bay.

EDIT:

Try the breakers to get the storage bins. Shouldn't be that expensive.

Re: [All] [Generic] mr2 "a marketing disaster"

So the MR2 grew fat. And complex. And suddenly, all the finesse was gone. And as if that wasn't bad enough, Toyota didn't even set it up right, turning the MR2 experience from ballet to a twitchy, lift-off-oversteering nightmare. Soon, the MR2's reputation was sullied: it became a Bad Handling Car....

Re: [All] [Generic] mr2 "a marketing disaster"

I am sorry, but I don't understand what people are bitching about. The article really is about marketing cars, not about the cars itself. And face it the MR2 to Toyota was a marketing disaster compared to say a Yaris. Why can't people understand simple concepts like marketing, which in layman's term...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] handeling differences?

The Powahhhh of the Rev 4 is making it twitchy  More power in a similar chassis the handling starts going downhill, at a certain point the twitchiness is so bad even holding in a straight line becomes an issue  EDIT: I strongly suspect the torque curves of the 2 engines are different,...

I bought mine for ~ £47 from the local motor factors with a 2 year warranty. I would buy from a local shop that will honour the warranty and test it before selling to you. :thumleft:
