Damn I forgot how good these cars look in yellow.
My first ever ride in an SW20 back in 1996 was in a yellow G Limited. From then on I wanted one.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Rev 1 Turbo choking, losing power, spluttering, stalling
You don't want to have any possible leaks otherwise the turbocharger will compress unmetered air which may cause rough running.

How is the turbo inlet pipe looking? They crack over time.

Ugh the ATS Knock sensor. Just like fitting a bigger fuse when you keep blowing the correct size one.

Re: Where to souce 2gr FE
You could import a damaged car from Japan, take what you need then flick the rest. The 2gr came in loads of cars. Aurion, Camry, Highlander, Blade Master, Lexus ES350.
My daily driver is a Blade Master G. Essentially an Auris with a 2gr-fe.

Put on a ct20b from the gen3 engine. Run 1 bar boost. Enjoy your horsepower increase.

I wish we could get Rainsports over here from tyre dealers. No where to be seen probably for the last ten years.

Yeah if you have any doubts, get it on a dyno with a Wideband and check.
3sgte's run pig rich. Even at 253rwhp I was sitting on 11:1 a/f with stock fuel system on my old gen2 engine.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Is 1bar ok for a rev 2 turbo
The fuel pump upgrade is probably overkill. A hybrid ct26 won't run out of fuel with it, despite what the sales material says. The injectors run out of fuel before the pump does, and that is at around ~275rwhp.

standard toyota mr2 oem discs and carbotech or porterfield pads with braided lines, refurbed calipers and new fluid is all you need for awesome stopping power. I always feel if you start messing around with brake sizing and mixing and matching then you can upset the bias between front and rear. A b...

mine are just fine with225-45-17 Coilovers? Those sizes won't find under a stock spring perch. Neither will a 215/45R17 without some massaging. BTW if you want more grip, fit a better quality tyre. It will have more effect on grip than a 10mm-20mm width change, as when the tyre becomes wider, the c...

ct20b + exhaust + downpipe and EBC are the best bang for buck modifications for an MR2 turbo. Disable the boost cut and you can run 12s.

I'm not talking about flow rates. I'm talking about build quality.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] fuel pump = Supra TT pump or something else?
I'd spend the extra $$$ and get the OEM Denso TT Supra pump simply because it would make me feel a little more comfortable when trying to eek out a bit more power that it wouldn't just die.
